CHECK OUR UPPER DARBY

To “Tick Tock,” looking for clock repair – try the place in Upper Darby on Garrett Road just off Lansdowne Avenue. CONSUMER WHO KNOWS

THEY KNOW WE’RE STUPID

The gasoline price gouging is in full force in Delaware County. ABC News said it would increase 30 cents into this week. Well, as of Friday it was already going up 30 cents a day here. Do they think we’re stupid? We are being charged this for gas already in the pumps before the hurricane even hit. Is our illustrious president going to do something about this?

ITCHY-FINGER DONNIE

Donald Trump has had his finger on the button since day one. He would love to start an allout conflict with North Korea. He probably has stock in everything that would be needed to equip our troops. This revenue would increase his billions greatly, giving no thought to the loss of our men and women’s lives. He needs to step down before this would come to fruition. NO FAN OF TRUMP

ALL HAIL JODINE

Jodine Mayberry’s last column, “It’s time to defend our institutions,” is brilliant and insightful, as usual. And she is absolutely correct. Trump is attacking our institutions, and without our institutions we will have a dictatorship – but that’s what Trump wants anyway.

BOO-HISS JODINE

Ah, like clockwork, last week Jodine continues her one-dimensional diatribe on anything President Trump does. You really need to start charging him for living rent-free between your ears, Jodine. By the way, first time to his website, the MAGA hats are $33 and change, total, drama queen. That pit in your stomach since Nov. 8 must be Grand Canyon size by now. EXPAND YOUR PASSIONS, JODINE

HOW QUICKLY THEY FORGET

“Another Lying Trumpster” says that there is no basis in reality saying that Obama held campaign-style rallies after his election. I guess this caller forgets all the leftwing magazines, MSNBC and newspaper editorials praising Obama’s decision to go into “permanent campaign” mode – how going to talk with his campaign trail rhetoric to the enthusiastic base that got him elected would give far more momentum to Obamacare than usual press conferences and addresses.

ALL ABOUT GREED

In an article in the Times about “governors urging to keep the ACA’s individual mandate part of the law” stated that in a poll 48 percent of people supported repealing in the individual mandate. These are just a bunch of selfish people who figure if they don’t have insurance it doesn’t matter because they’ll just go to the emergency room. But when they go to the emergency room, the rates of everyone who has insurance will go up on top of the corporate greed is fueling skyrocketing premiums. And these don’t care about that, all they do is care about themselves – typical Americans.

CALL THEM WRONG-WINGERS

There’s a new theory floating around among right-wingers that Medicaid is fueling the opioid epidemic. Despite that there are many, many flaws in this theory, of course the right-wingers are latching on to it like a drowning man latches on to lifeboat. It’s ridiculous, but it’s typical of right-wingers. These are the same people that believe that regulations are job killers, when the facts prove that they’re not. These are the same people that believe that taxes are job killers, and the facts prove that they’re not. It makes me wonder if rightwingers have any brains at all.

THE NERVOUS LEFT

I agree with “Gunning For Trouble.” Leftists flip out in fear and paranoia any time they hear about firearms or military-related anything. There are serious problems in this country with the militarization of local police, but it’s in behavior and actions, not what’s in the armory at the station or – God forbidden they ever have a legitimate reason to use it – small urban warfare tanks sitting in the municipal garage.
