Percy L. Magaw Jr., age 88 of Trainer, PA died peacefully on October 5, 2017 at home.

Born in Roxbough, PA and raised in Chester, PA, he resided for the past 52 years in Trainer.

Percy worked as a meter reader for Chester Water Authority for 24 years retiring in 1994.

In his earlier years he was a welder for Belmont Iron in Eddystone.

Percy served in the Army National Guard during the Korean War.

An avid Eagles and Phillies fan he enjoyed bowling and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchild­ren. He always said, “I may not be a rich man but I am rich in family and love.” As a graduate of Chester High School, he was a dedicated fan who attended many games and playoffs with his sons and brothers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Percy L. Sr. and Ida E. Shelton Magaw, son, James J. Magaw who died in 2013, brother, William T. Magaw and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary E. Boyle Magaw, 8 children, Mary Anne Magaw, Patricia (William) Brown, John Magaw, Percy L. (Susan) Magaw III, Maureen Clute, Joanne (Robert) DiIonno, Jane Marie Magaw and Margaret Magaw, daughter in law, Susan Magaw, brother, James Magaw, 25 grandchild­ren and 22 great grandchild­ren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday 7-9PM and Wednesday 9-9:45AM at the Moreland-Pagano Funeral Home, 825 Main St., Trainer, PA. Funeral Mass, Wednesday 10:30AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelph­ia Pike, Claymont, DE. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
