CALL IT BRIDGE BATTLE

I like to read Other Times in the Daily Times, and in the “10 Years Ago” Tuesday’s Other Times, it said the soccer stadium for Delaware County is right on schedule to be built in Chester under the Barry Bridge. My question is, why wasn’t the bridge renamed in honor of the greatest mayor in the history of Chester – Joe Battle, a man that devoted his already his entire life to the city of Chester and the people in it? INVASION OF THE HALLOWEEN BUGS

To the caller who’s getting bugs, those orange and black bugs that you see all over your doors and windows are called boxelder bugs, also known as Halloween bugs because of their color. They come from the boxelder trees in the neighborhood. As far as getting rid of them, I’ve tried so many times using Raid and any kind of bug spray that was on the market and they don’t seem to work. So they come around every time this time of year, another reason they’re called Halloween bugs, and unfortunately you have wait until the weather gets colder before they go away. They are nuisance and you just have to put up with them.

WALK IN MY SHOES

The caller who is getting on alleged “tree huggers” for keeping the Blue Route from being built on time obviously doesn’t live anywhere near where the Blue Route was built. And that’s the thing that gets you about right-wingers – they do not have to experience the headaches that the people who don’t want things build around them had to experience, and yet they feel they have the right to criticize these people … typical right-winger.

WING IT

To these callers always complaining about “rightwingers” and “left-wingers:” The 1880s called and wants its terms back. They’re called wide receivers and ends now. If you have to be outdated, at least catch up to the 1950s and call them flankers. If you’re going to keep talking about “wingers,” go to some un-American country that plays that soccer and rugby nonsense. And what do these people you’re complaining about have to do with football anyway?

TWO OF A KIND

With Bob Corker and Jeff Flake, they’re finally getting a conscience in the Republican Party — amen. JUST SAYING IN ASTON

BENNIES FOR EVERYBODY

To “Union Busters – Plain And Simple,” I would say that the prevailing plan that I think will go ahead is to have unionize state store workers working out in different locations – for example, supermarkets and malls – and still getting their union benefits and pensions. They should make everyone happy, if that’s possible in this country. UNION GUY ON UNION AVE.

WAKE UP AND WEEP

I have not read the news in nine months and I was just wondering if the snowflakes are still crying about the election. RIP VAN WINKLE

GIVE ME MY MONEY

To “Gluttons Of Greed,” you say that the figures are in and that middle class people got $600 a year from Trump’s tax plan. The true figures for the middle class average are $4,000 a year extra. You’ve got to be an idiot if you don’t want $4,000 a year – but wait, you’re a Democrat so you are an idiot. TRUMP 2020

SHIVVED AGAIN BY THE GOP

An article in the Times said that some Republican lawmakers are considering limiting the amount of that workers could save in the 401(k) retirement accounts to help pay for the tax cuts that are going to the rich. Once again, Republicans are proving that they don’t care about the regular people, only the rich, and yet we have the truly stupid in this country that keep voting Republican and Republicans turn around and stab them in the back.

WHAT A JOKE

It’s nice to see that “Trump 2020” is still out there, spouting insane, ridiculous statements like Hillary Clinton is going to go to jail for collusion with the Russians. I mean, keep it up, “Trump 2020.” You are really giving me a lot of laugh at. TRUMP IN JAIL 2020
