Lane restrictions loom in Edgmont Township
KING OF PRUSSIA » Get ready for some road work - and delays - in Edgmont Township.
Daytime lane restrictions are scheduled on Providence Road at its intersection with Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Edgmont Township, on Thursday, Nov. 2, and Friday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving as part of an improvement project to repair and resurface 18 miles of state highway in Delaware County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Tuesday.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor’s schedule is dependent on the weather.
State highways completed under this resurfacing project include:
• Providence Road between Route 252 (Palmers Mill Road) and the Chester County line in Upper Providence and Edgmont townships;
• Sweetwater Road between Creek Road and Valley Road in Thornbury and Edgmont townships;
• Brinton Lake Road between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Dilworthtown Road in Concord and Thornbury townships;
• Orange Street between Baltimore Avenue and Kirk Lane in Media Borough and Upper Providence Township;
• Brookhaven Road between Route 352 (Edgmont Avenue) and Route 252 (Providence Road) in Nether Providence Township, and Rose Valley and Brookhaven boroughs;
• Rogers Lane/Plush Mill Road/Wallingford Road between Turner Road and Baltimore Pike in Nether Providence and Springfield townships;
• Lungren Road/Parkmount Road/Glen Riddle Road between Lenni Road and Route 352 (New Middletown Road) in Middletown Township;
• Knowlton Road between Route 452 (Pennell Road) and Route 352 (New Middletown Road) in Aston and Middletown townships; and
• Gradyville Road between Route 352 (Middletown Road) and Crum Creek Bridge in Edgmont Township.
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in mid-November.
