UPPER MERION » An arrest warrant has been filed for the man who was shot by officers at the King of Prussia Mall Sunday, after allegedly committing a string of crimes in Delaware and Pennsylvania.

Kalin Jackson, 23, of New Castle, Del., was charged with robbery, theft, recklessly endangering another person, receiving stolen property, possession of instruments of crime, prohibited possession of a firearm, unlawful restraint and related charges stemming from the gunpoint robbery of a female shopper as she was entering her vehicle in Section 2G, Level 2 of the Green Deck Parking lot at the Plaza around 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28.

The suspect, believed to be Jackson, was seen fleeing the scene in a Maroon Kia SUV, but returned to the scene of the crime the following day and was confronted by police.

At approximately 4 p.m. Oct. 29, Upper Merion Police officers located Jackson in the same parking garage, driving the same Kia Sorrento, which he allegedly carjacked in Delaware two days prior. He was reportedly in possession of a black and pink handgun and the mall victim’s credit cards and driver’s license.

Jackson allegedly rammed several patrol vehicles while attempting to flee the scene and was shot multiple times by responding officers.

He was transported to the trauma center at Paoli Hospital where his last reported condition was listed as serious.

Per official policy, the officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave while an investigation by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and County Detectives continues.

Jackson is awaiting arraignment pending ongoing medical treatment.
