Fillis was a dual threat for Academy Park in rout of Interboro
Skylor night.
The Academy Park quarterback threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns. In addition, Fillis ran for 105 yards and two scores to help the Knights to a 50-27 shellacking of Interboro.
For his efforts, Fillis was selected Del Val League player of the week by the
and Delaware County Football Coaches Association.
In the Central League, Marple Newtown’s Marlon Weathers was as good as it gets running the football. The junior finished with a career-high 255 yards and three touchdowns as the Tigers defeated Strath Haven, 38-28.
Weathers shared the weekly Central League award with Springfield defensive lineman Justin Shields, who recorded double-digit tackles including a sack late in the fourth quarter to help the Central League champion Cougars to a 31-17 victory over Haverford.
