Merry Christmas Fund gets a major boost

Goal: $50,000 Given Today: $1,830 Given to date: $3,555 CHESTER » The Salvation Army/Delaware County Daily Times Merry Christmas Fund received its largest boost this year as donations from the over the weekend arrived at the Salvation Army Chester Corps. The contributi­ons keep the fund at pace with the 2015 and 2016 drives. The latest 18 donors to the fund are:

• Rotary Club of Haverford, $500: “Merry Christmas to all this wonderful season!”

• Elizabeth Anderson of Media, $50L “In memory of my grandson.”

• John and Mary Shallet of Prospect Park, $50.

• Eileen and Domenic Pascale of Folsom, $25: “It is given in love for the family and friends.”

• Craig and Denise Talley of Newtown Square, $100.

• Stephen J. Lydon of Aston, $50: “Merry Christmas. In memory of Joseph, Alberta and John Lydon, and Lois McDade.”

• Anonymous, $75: “In memory of Madeleine C. Procopio of Aldan.”

• Anita Doney of Norwood, $30: “In memory of George Doney.”

• Anonymous, $50: “In memory of our loved-ones.”

• Mary Scott of Media, $300: “In loving memory of my husband, Louis W. Scott, and my parents, Daniel and Elizabeth Wright. Merry Christmas and Happy 2018 to all!”

The Daily Times will provide daily updates showing the amount of donations received and list the names of contributo­rs to the fund providing toys and food baskets to county families in need. Those who wish to be recognized should include a very brief, legible holiday message with their donations.
