Upcoming programs include: A basic drawing course meets from 9:30-11:30 a.m. every Wednesday Learn to draw with pencil and charcoal. Students learn to see things in a different way when they start to draw — drawing is basic to all art. Take this class with instructor Mary Ash to build art skills. A 9x12 sketch pad, pencil, and an eraser are be needed. Cost is $5 per class for members, $6 for nonmembers, paid to the instructor; A woodcarvin­g group meets noon-2 p.m. Mondays. Experience­d woodcarver­s help beginners learn the craft, enjoying camaraderi­e while they carve. New carvers are always welcomed. This free group is affiliated with the William Rush Woodcarver­s.

Taylor Hospice: 300 Johnson Ave., Ridley Park, offers a bereavemen­t support group from 6:30-8 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month for any adult who has experience­d the loss of a loved one. The group is open to all family members of a loved one served by Taylor Hospice and to those affected by grief within the community. There is no fee and no registrati­on required. To Live Again: The Widow and Widowers Support Group, meets one evening per month at the Church of The Redeemer, Hillcrest and Springfiel­d Roads. Upper Chichester Senior Citizens Club: meets the first and third Thursdays at 1 p.m. at the Community Services Building on Market Street, Linwood. Bingo is played before the meetings at 11:30 a.m. Refreshmen­ts are served. Membership is open to all

Upper Chichester residents ages 60 or older. VFW Post 7949: 1015 Saville Ave., Eddystone, holds hamburger Tuesday every Tuesday from noon-3 p.m. Cost is $3 for a hamburger. French fries and onion rings are available. To order take out, call ahead at 610-874-4695. The canteen is open with Sharon behind the bar.

Women Against Rape: Delaware County Women Against Rape has been providing services to victims of sexual assault and their significan­t others since 1974. The agency depends on the support of its volunteers to meet the needs of clients 24 hours a day. Services to victims include hospital/police interview accompanim­ent and telephone crisis interventi­on. Volunteers receive 40 hours of training to prepare them for their responsibi­lities and are asked to provide support at least twice a month for an evening or weekend shift.
