Sound Off: Call 484-521-3180

- GOTTA LOVE IT A FRUITCAKE LOVER

THIS IS IT?

For real? A 10-month investigation and this is tax money at work – Michael Flynn makes false statements? There’s nobody down there in D.C. who doesn’t make a false statement every day. This is earth shaking? Give me a break.

SIGNS UP

I think I know how Upper Darby can save some money for people – by getting rid of every stop sign on these side streets that no one stops that, and getting rid of every sign that says no parking of trucks or commercial vehicles, because the streets are filled with trucks and commercial vehicles and nobody does anything about it. So either make money by giving out tickets to these people, or take the signs down.

WHERE’S THE FRUIT?

Yes, does anybody know where you can buy an old fashioned fruitcake in Delaware County? I’ve called 55,000 bakeries in the county and they don’t know what I’m talking about. Thank you for any help.

THE TRUTH HURTS

“Think About It” asks isn’t it funny the people are insulting each other in the Sound Off. When you call people “stupid” and “idiot” and “morons” for being Trump supporters, it’s not an insult. It’s just a descriptive term, because that’s what they are for voting for Trump and supporting Trump.

THE BATT OLD DAYS

I wish they would get rid of battery-operated toys. Get back to the old toys were kids had to go out and push them around and get some physical activity. They’re so lazy today that they’ve got to sit there and have everything run on batteries. Pretty soon they’ll be running on batteries.

ME FIRST

To “Local Is Local,” that other caller didn’t miss the point of my call, you did. There is nothing inherently better about shopping at a “mom and pop” store over a national chain, or any type of store in between. You shop at businesses that provide you with the best service and value as a consumer. Sometimes that means going to small locally owned businesses, sometimes to big box stores.

DO IT YOURSELF

“Classics Wanted” sounds like the caller or one of the callers who is always complaining about “intellectual idiots,” people being lazy and “big rich corporations” aided by “big rich Republicans.” So I think it’s funny that half these classic toys they’re talking about could have easily been at home with some basic wood- and metalworking tools and one year of high school shop class. So big rich corporations are evil and people need to get back to hard work, just not when it gets in the way of your nostalgia for overpriced Mattel products that you could make at home for half the cost?

DOLLARS AND SENSE

I like how leftist callers always talk about “facts,” then “No Free Money” does that the rich paying 70 percent of taxes is “a joke.” Even left-leaning tax reform think tanks will put the amount of taxes paid by people would commonly be called wealthy in that range. You can argue that they’re not paying a high enough percentage of their own income in taxes, but to argue that they’re not paying around 70 percent of total income tax revenue makes you look foolish.

THERE HE GOES AGAIN

For all of the Eagles’ sloppy play against Seattle, it could have been worse: Andy Reid needs to get some discipline back with the Chiefs. Blowing a potential win in the final minutes with a series of critical penalties? That doesn’t sound like Coach Reid at all. Andy, stop living up to the worst parts of your reputation.

TOWER OF BABBLE

“Phony Barry” complains about the socalled leftists talking about “Trump talking at a fourth-grade level, or whatever they say.” He does talk at a fourth-grade level. It’s is not “whatever we say.” And you talk about “babbling incoherently” – Trump babbles incoherently all the time. It’s amazing to hear Trump supporters talk about Obama when Trump is dumb as the day is long, and Obama is smarter than “Phony Barry” will ever be in 10 lifetimes.
