Radnorite student paper earns statewide recognition
RADNOR » The Radnor High School student newspaper, Radnorite, received Honorable Mention in the 2018 Student Keystone Press Awards. The contest recognizes high school and college journalism that provides relevance, integrity and initiative in serving readers.
Radnorite was recognized in the “Ongoing News Coverage” category for its series on the district’s implementation of the drug dog program at RHS in Spring 2017. The contributors to the series were current juniors Ben Chanenson and Nick Camposano and last year’s seniors Victoria Vale and John Hydrisko.
Winners were notified in mid-February and honored at the Student Keystone Press Awards Luncheon during the America East Media Business and Technology Conference, on March 14, in Hershey. A plaque was awarded to each winner for first place, and certificates were awarded for second place and honorable mention.
“We at the Radnorite strive to generate community through publishing work of interest to the local youth culture,” the paper states on its website. “We value keeping current in the marketplace, pushing on the boundaries of traditional journalism and exploring unique mechanisms of promoting and distributing our work– always with an eye to inform, engage, and challenge our readers.”
The Radnorite is published monthly and distributed online at www.radnorite. com. The Radnorite is run by student editors with guidance from faculty advisors Rick Dunbar and Trevor Payne.
