Mary Testa

-

Our Mother, Mary Testa, peacefully went home to Our Lord on Tuesday evening, March 27, 2018 at the age of 86.

Born on April 2, 1931 in Philadelphia, she was a constant source of compassion and support to all who knew her. Known for her beautiful, rosy cheeks, Sunday spaghetti dinners, and love to crochet blankets for everyone, she created love and light in everything she touched and involved herself in every detail of her family’s life. She respected and loved her husband and children unconditionally and never took any of life’s gifts for granted, always commenting on how fortunate and thankful she was for all the wonderful people around her.

Mom was a very descriptive and powerful story teller and was able to command anyone’s attention that was close by. She will long be cherished for the care she took in ensuring everyone in her orbit was happy and cared for, telling us all we were constantly in her thoughts and prayers.

Mom was predeceased by our father, Salvatore (Bob) Testa. Left to miss her forever are her 5 children - Mary Weinstock (Arnold), Barbara Ennis (Ed), Kathy Watson (John), Anthony Testa (Kathy), Judi DelViscio (John) and her 11 grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Gram” - Eddie Ennis (Christina), Sean and Keith Ennis, Michael Weinstock (Alexandra), Amy Weinstock, Kelly Watson; Shannon and Ashley Testa, and Jonathan, Nick and Sami DelViscio. She leaves five great-grandchildren - Alexandra and Brianna Ennis, Lucas and Sean Weinstock, Sophia Weinstock, her 3 sisters - Helena Zambrzycki (Victor), Dolores Andrelzyck and Kate Crupi (deceased) and her sister-in-law Patty Testa and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her wonderful friends - Annamarie Archacki, Yoli Quiles and Ruth Dorsey, her beautiful and devoted cat, Tara, and her many grand dogs and cats.

Our mom was a woman of strong conviction, believing in the power and strength of Our Lord’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after she passed. While we are heartbroken to lose her, we also know she was looking forward to spending the rest of eternity in heaven reuniting with our dad and all of her beloved family and friends that had passed.

We now reluctantly and sadly say good-bye to the most beautiful human being we were privileged to know and call our mom. Her funeral services will be held at St. Gabriel’s Church – 233 Mohawk Avenue, Norwood, PA on Monday, April 2 9:30 AM – 10:45 AM. Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held on Mother’s Day, celebrating her life.

In lieu of flowers, our family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Convent of Divine Love, 2212 Green Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130. This would be an appreciated way to celebrate mom’s love for the Pink Sisters.
