RIGHT ON TIME

I want to Sound Off about the clock in Chester that’s at Ninth Street and Avenue of the States. The clock hasn’t been working for at least 20 years. The mayor that’s working now hasn’t fixed it, the mayor before him didn’t fixed it, and the mayor before that didn’t fixed it. Let’s get this time fixed.

THE TIMEKEEPER

JUST YOU WAIT

I see they had a show on “Dr. Oz” about organic food. I’ve been eating regular food for years and years and years and I’m still walking around in good shape. I don’t believe what it’s all cut out to be on this organic food stuff. I think it’s just another rip off. That’s what I think it is – a rip off, period.

IS IT A CHOICE?

I was reading the recent column on drug addiction, that it’s not it’s not a choice, it’s a disease. I have to agree with the writer on the part where she says that the brain gets to a certain point where it shuts down and you cannot make correct decisions. That is true, but the period between when you take the first drug and you get to that point is your choice. I’m sorry, but to say that it is a disease is just an excuse to justify that your loved ones and you and everybody else are doing this. Cancer is a disease – you don’t choose cancer, cancer chooses you. I, for one, have taken many prescription drugs. I am in constant pain day in and day out. Never once have I decided to take more than I was supposed to take or to take something stronger or take something illegal, because that is a choice, not a disease.

LIGHT UP YOUR LIVES

To the caller talking about a potential light at Middletown and Valley roads who is worried about sitting at a light – how many other useless lights do we sit at during our daily travels? Considering this is an intersection we frequent, lives saved are always worth the wait. I’m sure the people that had accidents at Middletown and Valley road wouldn’t mind sitting at a light now.

SO THERE

To the guy that says “Republican” means “rich” and Democrats are for the poor and working class: In the last election, 53 percent of the top 20 percent of wage earners in this country voted for Democrats. Forty percent of all union households voted for Republicans. To quote all of the name-calling Democrat callers – “you’re an idiot.”

BOOTHWYN

SILENT TREATMENT

Rosenstein said, Comey said, McCabe said, “Let’s not talk about Hillary. Whatever we do, let’s keep going around in circles and getting paid and collecting money and making up fake news, but whatever we do don’t say anything about Hillary or Obama.” Isn’t that gist of the entire situation? Talk all we want about Stormy Daniels, but don’t say a word about Hillary.

WOLF AT THE DOOR

I see these two candidates for governor, Wagner and Mango, are doing a nice job of ripping one another to shreds. I guess they’re spending a wheel barrel full of money, but Pennsylvania’s governors generally serve two terms. But I have bad news for Mr. Wagner and Mango: Wolf’s going back in.

BABY BOOMER IN BOOTHWYN

THANKS, OBAMA

To “Thanks For Nothing,” the Republicans taxpayer didn’t kick in until 2018 taxes, you fool. Blame Barack Obama for your problems.

TRUMP 2020

SAME OLD STORY

To “Bogus Economics,” I don’t have the paperwork in front of me, but I have a feeling a good part of those $900 billion in shovel-ready jobs turned into Democratic district patronage jobs doled out through federal grants from the Obama executive branch. You don’t come up in Illinois politics and not learn a few tricks of the trade.

BOSS TWEED FROM NYC

MAYBE NOT

To “Thanks For Nothing,” the tax bill doesn’t go into effect until you file your taxes for 2018. So the fact that your refund was substantially less had nothing to do with the new tax bill. Perhaps you didn’t have as many deductions; maybe you didn’t give as much money to charity this year.
