• Mary Margaret “Mickey” Russell
Mary Margaret “Mickey” Russell (née Sette), 89, of Springfield, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on June 26, 2018 at Springfield Hospital.
Beloved wife of the late John Tyler Russell, Mickey is survived by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth David, brother-in-law, George Russell, and many dearly loved cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Sette, and her sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Frank LaVerghetta.
Born in Renovo, Pennsylvania, Mickey was a resident of Springfield since 1966 and was retired from the Pennsylvania Crime Commission. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church where she ran the White Elephant Thrift Shop for many years.
Mickey’s family and friends remained her greatest priority; she stayed in touch with personal and caring notes, never missing a birthday or holiday. Those who knew Mickey know that she lived the life that she intended and we are all the better for it.
Calling hours will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Avenue, Springfield, PA 19064. Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi parish school.
