Esther Elizabeth Ross Handy, 88, departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2018.

She was born in Chichester, PA to the late Raymond S. Ross and Helen Posey Ross on April 15, 1930.

Esther received her formal education in the Chichester, PA Public School System. She worked as a Dietician at Elwyn Institute for over 30 years. She was a long-time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Linwood, PA.

Esther was a member of Princess Adah Chapter No. 95 Order of Eastern Star, PHA.

Preceded in death by her son J. Gerald Ross Sr. and daughter Thomasina J. Handy.

Survivors: Daughter Audrey G. Jackson (Thomas); sister Helen R. Corbin; grandchildren: David Potts (Kelly), Derek Potts (Darlene), Gina L. Ross, Cordell Capers, J. Gerald Ross, Jr. (Teresa), and Dana Henderson (Michael); 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Service: Saturday, July 7, 2018, 10:00am at First Pentecostal Holy Church, 324 Pusey Street, Chester, PA 19013. Viewing: 8:00am – 10am at the church. OES Service on Friday July 6 at 7pm at Claude J. Edney Funeral Home, Sharon Hill, PA. Interment at Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, PA.
