Man killed at con­struc­tion site ac­ci­dent in Con­cord

CON­CORD » An in­dus­trial ac­ci­dent that claimed the life of a con­struc­tion worker Tues­day af­ter­noon is un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion by Penn­syl­va­nia State Po­lice and the Delaware County Med­i­cal Ex­am­iner’s of­fice.

Cpl. Danea Durham, spokes­woman for Troop K Me­dia, said the in­ci­dent at 1 Brax­ton Way was re­ported about 1:30 p.m.

Ac­cord­ing to Durham, the con­struc­tion worker was ap­par­ently hit by a piece of equip­ment. The uniden­ti­fied con­struc­tion worker was pro­nounced dead at the scene, she said.

Delaware County Med­i­cal Ex­am­iner Dr. Fredric Hell­man said late Tues­day af­ter­noon that an au­topsy will be con­ducted Wed­nes­day.

A con­struc­tion worker was killed at 1 Brax­ton Way in front of the of­fices of De­liotte in Con­cord on Tues­day. Con­cordville Fire Co. first re­spon­ders were alerted about 1 p.m. for an un­con­scious sub­ject struck in the head by an ex­ca­va­tor. The man was re­ported pinned be­tween the ma­chine and a wall but was ex­tri­cated be­fore medics ar­rived.
