Bleary eyed Jordan comes through in clutch

J.J. Jordan is one dedicated softball player.

Saturday night he was at a bachelor party in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Sunday morning he delivered the game winning hit in the opener at Lenni Park that helped Stephen’s on State Street sweep its Millennium A Division quarterfin­al series with Miller’s Ale House Heavy Hitters.

Jordan changed his flight in time make the 10 a.m. start and hit a walkoff two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 10-9 win. Jim Toy made two diving catches to save runs and keep it close.

Chris Proctor took a nohitter into the fourth inning and a shutout into the fifth before settling for a 12-6 win in Game 2 to complete the sweep. He also delivered a clutch, two-out, two run single. Anthony San Filippo Sr. added three hits and two RBIs. Mark Nevins also drove in a run.
