‘Hops & Helicopter­s Happy Hour’ celebrates third year

J oin the American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) Sept. 7, from 5-9 p.m., for a very hoppy happy hour. Hops & Helicopter­s, the museum’s third annual BrewFest assembles local breweries, distilleri­es, cideries, wineries and even meaderies for a fun evening of tastings, music, Haute Wheels and The Meat House food trucks and more.

Breweries like Locust Lane Craft Brewery, Root Down Brewing Company, Stable 12 Brewing Company and Tuned Up Brewery will be pouring thirst-quenching brews. Artisan Homebrew and Milford Mills Brew Club will be bringing home blends to try. Pennsylvan­ia Distilling Company and Brandywine Branch Distilling will be serving some awesome spirits. Dressler Estate cidery and Milltown Meads meadery will be adding their specialtie­s.

The University of the Sciences Brewing Program, the region’s first Brewing Science Certificat­e that dives deep into the biology, chemistry, physics and math of creating the perfect pint of beer, will have samples of their creations. Thom’s Jerky, 20 Marchwood Shopping Center, will offer yummy treats that they manufactur­e and sell at their Exton store.

Admission is $30 in advance or $35 at the door, which includes museum entry as well as a souvenir sampling glass. Admission is $10 for designated drivers or guests under age 21. Attendees must be 21-yearsold or older to consume alcohol. Proof of age is required.
