Interboro claims share of Del Val field hockey crown

Although difficult, the task was clear for Interboro Tuesday night.

Beat Chichester and the Bucs win a share of the Del Val League field hockey title. Lose, as Interboro did in the first two meetings, and the Eagles claim the crown outright.

The Bucs didn’t wilt under the pressure.

Dani Linker had one goal and one assist, and goalie Sophia Harley made seven saves as Interboro topped Chi, 3-1, to grab a share of the championsh­ip.

Logan Stewart and Marissa Mullan also scored, while Maddy Bonner, Sam Shemeluk, Emma Neves and Izzy Ianncelli played solid defense in front of Harley.

In the Central League: RADNOR 6, UPPER DARBY 0 >> Brigid Lowry collected two goals and two assists, and Alicia Vitale added two goals and one assist as the Raiders extended their winning streak to 14 games.

Page Lowry added one goal and one assist. Barb Civitella had the other goal. Mariama Keita (seven saves) and Santi Laureano (two saves) split time in goal for the Royals. STRATH HAVEN 3, RIDLEY 0 >> Sarah McAndrews converted as pass from Ashley Hassell in the first half, and Rori Caulfield sealed it with two goals in the second. (14-3, 11-0) completed a sixth straight undefeated run in the Central League. Chloe Ziegler chipped in two goals.

Ashlyn Stienstra made eight saves in goal for the Cougars.

In the Catholic League: CARD. O’HARA 2, ARCHBISHOP WOOD 0 >> Goalie Gianna Travis turned back 16 shots to help the Lions (8-6, 6-1) take sole possession of second place. Katie Shallow had a goal and an assist, while Julia Ferriaolo also scored.

In the Inter-Ac League: EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 10, PENN CHARTER 1 >> Maddie Rehak found the back of the cage three times and Macy Szukics added one goal and two assists. Gianna Pantaleo (goal, assist), Jackie Miller (goal, assist) and Kathleen Anderson (two assists) also had multiplepo­int games for the Churchwome­n (8-2-2, 4-2-1).

In the Bicentenni­al League:

DOCK MENNONITE 2, DELCO CHRISTIAN 0 >> Goalie Rachel Yeung made six saves as the Knights (6-10, 4-10) had their five-game winning streak snapped.

Girls Tennis

Ashley Kennedy and Ella Walker were the first of six victories as Episcopal Academy tallied 47 points to take home the Inter-Ac Tournament girls tennis championsh­ip.

Kennedy won the No. 1 singles match, 8-5, while Walker took home the No. 2 singles, 8-3. Bella Calastri finished off a perfect a sweep in singles play by winning at No. 3, 8-0.

It was much of the same in doubles play with three victories including Grace Hennigan and Caroline Burt’s 8-4 win in No. 2 doubles.

In nonleague action: ACADEMY PARK 4, POTTSTOWN 1 >> Camille Erskine and Taylor Smith won the No. 2 and No. 3 singles in straight sets, respective­ly, for the Knights (8-7).

The tandem of Akima Roger and Briyae Jackson claimed the first doubles match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Volleyball

Maeve Boylan was the catalyst with 19 assists, 10 digs and six kills to lead Cardinal O’Hara to a 3-0 Catholic League victory over Bishop McDevitt.

Regan Hickey had 12 kills and Isa Kirchner added eight kills for the Lions (19-1, 10-1), who won 25-17, 25-23, 25-15.

BONNER & PRENDERGAS­T 3, ARCHBISHOP RYAN 0 >> Kelly Eisenhart had five aces and four blocks in the 25-18, 2519, 25-12 victory. Ariana McGeary added six kills, seven digs and three blocks.

Sam Lachette (seven kills), Maggie McDevitt (nine assists) and Abby Lance (10 digs) also were key contributo­rs for the Pandas (10-7, 7-4).

In the Inter-Ac: ACADEMY OF NOTRE DAME 3, GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 0 >> The Irish won 25-19, 25-15,

25-18, behind 19 combined kills from Gracie Guerin and Riley Shaak.

Sara McDougall, Emma Jardine and Christine Covella dished out a combined

33 assists to help Notre Dame (12-2, 6-0) remain unbeaten in league play.

In nonleague action: RADNOR 3, WEST CHESTER EAST 0 >> Grayce Henderson tallied 13 kills while Erica DiCarlo posted a strong allaround game with 28 assists, six digs, three kills, two aces in the 25-20, 25-16, 25-21 win for the Raiders.

Sammy Scannapiec­o had

15 digs, Grace Remphrey added eight digs and five aces, and Josie Darrach and Lucy Criscuolo chipped in six kills apiece for Radnor. RIDLEY 3, WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 0 >> Melanie June had

24 digs and Shannon Glacken posted 16 digs for the Raiders, who won 25-13, 25-19, 28-26.

Angela April had eight kills and three blocks, Abi Herrin had eight kills and Riley Finnegan finished with 12 digs.

Boys Water Polo

David Gobora was one of four players to score multiple goals as the Haverford School secured a 15-11 Inter-Ac win over Episcopal Academy.

Gobora led the group with six goals to go along five steals and an assist. Bram Schork had three goals, four steals and an assist, Ryan LaRocca added three goals and five assists and Matej Sekulic chipped in a pair of goals and assists.

Girls Water Polo

Senior Eleanor Campbell led the way for Episcopal Academy in its 12-1 nonleague victory over Friends Central.

Boys Cross Country

Mickey Fairorth and Khalil Bland were two of the Fords top six finishes as the Haverford School picked up a 15-46 Inter-Ac victory over Springside Chestnut Hill at Belmont Plateau.

Vincent Scauzzo and Ben Szathmary helped the Fords claim the top six places.
