Catharine Marie Hoopes

Catharine “Dolly” Marie Hoopes (née Ulshafer), age 86, a lifetime resident of Media, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 21, 2018 at Riddle Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Media, Dolly attended Nativity B.V.M. grade school and Notre Dame High School. She worked at the Rose Tree Inn as a waitress from 1970 through 2008. She loved nature and gardening. Dolly had a great love for cats and always made sure they were provided with much love in her home.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters Annarita Gardner and Mary Rose Ulshafer and her grandson Paul Hoopes.

Survivors include her children Kathleen Romanski of Tulsa, OK, Robert E. Hoopes (Jean) of Schnecksville, PA, Patrick Hoopes (Kathy) of Media, PA, and Luke Hoopes of Media, PA; grandchildren Steven Romanski, Nicholas Romanski and Diane Mellen; great-grandchildren Matthew and Ava Mellen; and her sister, Theresa Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to “Animal Care Sanctuary” P.O. Box A East Smithfield, PA 18817.
