WEST CHESTER >> The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) will have its own category on the long-standing television game show “Jeopardy!” on Tuesday, December 18. The museum will celebrate with an after-hours party that evening from 5 until 7:30 p.m. with free wine, beer, soft drinks, desserts and, of course, host Alex Trebek and his Clue Crew streaming in AHMEC’s comfortable theater at 7 p.m.

“We are extremely honored to have been chosen by this challenging program for our own category,” said Sarah Sands, AHMEC’s Executive Director. “The producers contacted us earlier this year and they filmed onsite in April.”

“Jeopardy!”’s Clue Crew stars Sarah Whitcomb Foss and Kelly Miyahara arrived with camera, light and sound technicians and more. They spent the day shooting various aspects of the museum and creating the magic that will air on December 18. AHMEC staff enjoyed testing their skills while watching the taping and knew all of the answers.

“Test your helicopter knowledge with us on Tuesday the 18th,” Sands continued. “Our fun Happy Hour-type event will be something you can come to right after work with friends, have some dessert and drinks, socialize and see first-hand the topics of the television show and even watch and play along with ‘Jeopardy!’ with us!”

The multi-faceted media mogul the late Merv Griffin created “Jeopardy!” which premiered in 1964 and ran until 1975 with host Art Fleming. It reappeared for a year in 1974 then resurfaced again in its current version in 1984 hosted by Trebek. The quiz show originally featured a competition for three contestants during which they receive answers as clues and must form their responses as questions, a format still used today.

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center, located at 1220 American Boulevard, West Chester is the nation’s premier aviation museum devoted exclusively to helicopters. Established in 1996, the nonprofit organization collects, restores and displays rotary-wing aircraft, including over 35 civilian and military helicopters, autogiros and convertiplanes.
