Trio hits double figures, ’Nova cruises past GW

Adrianna Hahn, Mary Gedaka and Jannah Tucker each reached double figures in scoring as Villanova cruised to a 60-45 victory over George Washington Thursday.

Hahn led the way with 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting from 3-point range. Gedaka (13 points) was a rebound shy of a double-double, while Tucker added 11 points for the Wildcats (6-2).

AUBURN 81, SAINT JOSEPH’S 70 >> The Hawks battled back from a 16-point, first-half deficit to make it a one-point game in the fourth quarter. Alas, the Hawks (3-6) couldn’t complete the comeback.

Lula Roig’s first career 3-pointer cut the Hawks’ deficit to one with 6:24 to play, but Auburn pulled away for good with a 9-0 run.

Alyssa Monaghan (Bonner & Prendergas­t, Daily Times Player of the Year) registered team highs in points (18) and assists (five). All six of her field goals came from 3-point distance.

Roig finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Katie Mayock (Conestoga) added eight points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block for the Hawks. TEMPLE 59, IONA 39 >> Mia Davis scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Owls (3-5), who snapped a five-game winning streak. Alliya Butts chipped in with nine points and six assists.
