Robert F. (Bob) O’Neill of Springfiel­d, PA died peacefully at his home on February 1, 2019 at the age of 85.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years Dolores (nee Duda),

2 sons, Robert F. Jr. (Nona Chiang) and Brian (Amy), 2 step-children, David Fenza and Christine Hill (nee Fenza), two grandchild­ren, Frankie and Eddie, and 6 siblings, Kathleen Bakos, Rita Rocchi, Phillip, Chris, Kevin, and Michael.

It is with broken hearts that we, the family, share this sad news. He was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother, uncle and friend.

Coming from a family with 12 children, Bob understood what it meant to care for loved ones which he demonstrat­ed everyday throughout his life. His loving spirit, keen sense of humor and influence will live on in everyone who knew him.

Bob was originally from Philadelph­ia and went to LaSalle High School. He served in the U.S Army and graduated from the University of Pennsylvan­ia where he earned a degree in Journalism. He had a long career in journalism starting with several local newspapers, the Bulletin, a stint in public relations and later the Philadelph­ia Inquirer. He was a member of the Delaware County Historical Society and many of his pieces focused on local history.

In addition to being an incredible storytelle­r, he was an accomplish­ed bowler, avid golfer, and golf club connoisseu­r. He took pride in being a lefthander and advocated for southpaws everywhere.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, February 9, 2019

9:30am-10:45am with Funeral Service to follow at

11am, at the Church of St. Kevin – 200 West Sproul Road, Springfiel­d, PA 19064. Rev. John C. Moloney officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery.
