Handy plays typical role in CCSA’s win over Interboro

Logan Handy bested her season average of 25 points per game in Chester Charter School for the Arts’ 60-53 victory over Interboro Wednesday night.

Handy, who is the leading scorer in Delaware County, dropped in 30 points, handed out five assists and made four steals for the Sabers (172), who came back from a 3023 halftime deficit. D’Ayzha Atkinson posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Ceyra Williams had a strong floor game with six points, nine rebounds, four four blocks.

Amanda Floyd paced the Bucs with 18 points and two steals. Madison Diehl chipped in with 14 points and Riley Szatny paired eight points with 12 rebounds. steals and

Boys Basketball

Aziz Khammassi continued a dominant finish to the season with 22 points and 17 rebounds, leading Marple Newtown to a 59-38 rout of Radnor Tuesday.

Joey Pettinelli (18 points) and Tommy Gardler (11 points) buried three 3-pointers each as the Tigers (8-13, 5-10) kept their playoff hopes alive with a win away from home.

Jack D’Entremont led Radnor (10-9, 6-9) with 10 points. The Raiders scored just nine points in the first half.

Wrestling

Chichester continued its dominance against Del Val League foes Wednesday night.

William Asbury’s win by technical fall, 20-2, in the 182-pound match helped the Eagles cruise to a 59-15 victory over Academy Park.

Gavin McClure (113), Chase Whartnaby (120), Bryan Rogers (145), Tymeir Bush (152), Matt Richardson

(220) and Faizan Raza (285) all won by fall for the Eagles. Mason McClure picked up a

15-3 major decision in the

132-pound bout.

Kyree Jackson (106), Liam Grey (170) and Cole Root

(195) all won by decision for the Knights.

In a nonleague match: GREAT VALLEY 46, EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 22 >> EA’s Flynn Kearney emerged the winner of a grueling battle with Great Valley’s Jacob Mingis in the 106-pound match. Kearney recorded the pin in 5:55.

Alex Bendinelli cruised to a 15-5 decision at 138 and Frederick Greene notched a 6-1 decision at 170 for the Churchmen.
