How to navigate Delco roads this week

The Pennsylvan­ia Department of Transporta­tion has announced tree trimming operations are slated for this week in Thornbury.

The work schedule is: •Feb. 11 through Feb.

15, lane restrictio­ns with flagging on Dilworthto­wn Road between Kashmir Drive and Westtown Thornton Road; and

•Feb. 12, a single lane closure with flagging on Sweetwater Road between Sweet Briar Lane and Creek Road.

Motorists should also keep these ongoing road projects in mind this week. Chester

• Interstate 95, southbound right and enter lane closures between the Interstate 476 (Exit 7) and Route 352/Route 320 (Exit

6), 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Feb. 11 through Feb. 15 for demolition of the Melrose Avenue bridge.

Radnor

• Newtown Road, closures between RadnorChes­ter Road and DarbyPaoli Road, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Feb. 28 for gas main installati­on. Motorists will be directed to use Darby-Paoli Road, Bryn Mawr Avenue and Sproul Road.

• Lancaster Avenue, weekday lane closures between St. Thomas Way and Ithan Avenue 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Feb. 15 for curb improvemen­ts.

PECO Energy is also planning a weekday road closure on Newtown Road and overnight lane restrictio­ns on Radnor-Chester Road in Radnor Township for gas main installati­ons. The work schedule is:

• Newtown Road between Radnor-Chester Road and Darby-Paoli Road,

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Feb. 28. Motorists will be directed to use Darby-Paoli Road, Bryn Mawr Avenue and Sproul Road.

• Radnor-Chester Road between Lancaster Ave. and Newtown Road, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Feb. 28.

Upper Providence and Marple

• Palmer’s Mill Road, continued bridge work between Lakeview Drive and Newtown Street Road from

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the summer as crews continue work to expand a bridge over the Springton Reservoir.

Haverford

• Ardmore Avenue, weekday lane restrictio­ns with flagging between Morris Road and Lancaster Avenue, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through early May for utility installati­on.

Upper Chichester

• Bethel Avenue, weekday closures between Conchester Highway and Dutton Street, 9 a.m. to

3 p.m. through the end of April for utility installati­on.
