Interboro has strong showing in third at Cardinal Invitational
Interboro went 0-for-5 in championship finals Saturday at the Cardinal Invitational. But the effort to get there at Upper Dublin High School netted the Bucs third place in the team classification.
Jacob Finley came the closest to a gold, dropping a 7-6 decision to Matt Fritz of Wissahickon in the 126-pound final. Nate Shippey fell by two points in the 113-pound final, and Chase Gallo was outpointed by three at 106.
Dylan Lajudice and Shalom Thomas were pinned in the championship finals at 145 and 220, respectively, to earn silvers for Interboro.
Dominic D’Agostino scored a 6-0 decision in the third-place match at 138 pounds. Isaiah Fusaro notched a pin in the thirdplace match at 152, while Victor Quintiliana used a 7-4 decision to grab fifth at 120.
Aiden McDevitt (132), Michael Hanna (160) and Aaron Stankiewicz (170) won their seventh-place bouts, and heavyweight Jacob Bierlein needed just 20 seconds to pin his opponent in the ninthplace match.
The Bucs tallied 131 points, trailing only Wissahickon (182) and West Chester Rustin (171) in the 16-team event.
