Julia N. Rainey (nee Nelson)

Julia N. Rainey (nee Nelson), age 94, passed away on May 11, 2019.

She was the wife of the late Clifford Rainey for 63 years; daughter of the late William Nelson and Mabel Crutchfield Nelson; mother of Michael W. Rainey of Middletown and David N. Rainey of Broomall; grandmother of James C. Rainey of Middletown. “Judy,” as she was known throughout her life, graduated from Guilford College, NC, in 1945. She taught at Conrad High School in Wilmington, DE, for six years and completed her graduate studies at West Chester University and Widener University.

Judy taught French and Spanish in the Rose Tree Media School District for 20 years. She was known as a lifelong devotee of correct language, physical fitness, all sports and good books, but most of all Judy treasured time spent with her family and friends.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the Cavanagh Patterson Family Funeral Home, 43 E. Baltimore Ave., Media, Pa. where her family will receive friends after 10:00 am.
