Learn organizati­on tips, play Superhero Quizzo at Ridley Library

RIDLEY TOWNSHIP >> Kim Myers from Kim Myers Organizing in Woodlyn will visit Ridley Township Public Library and Resource Center 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 to present a free workshop on getting organized for the Back to School rush. Everyone is welcome to learn some helpful tips.

Superhero Quizzo will be presented at Ridley Township Library 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. Teams of up to 4 people will play five rounds of trivia featuring favorite caped crusaders and prizes will be awarded. Teams can bring their own snacks. Space is limited, so registrati­on is required.

The Overdrive Digital Bookmobile will visit Ridley Township Library 10 a.m. to

4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, giving area residents an opportunit­y to learn how to borrow an ebook or an e-audiobook for free with a library card. There will be interactiv­e work stations with expert one-to-one instructio­n. Visitors to the bookmobile are also welcome to bring their own devices. Readers of all ages can learn about and engage with digital books at their own pace. A wheelchair lift offers ADA accessibil­ity.

The high-tech bookmobile has traveled to 48 states and three Canadian provinces and has hosted more than 900 events and

220,000 visitors since it launched in Central Park, New York City in August

2008.

Ridley Park Library offers free Zumba fitness classes

RIDLEY PARK >> The Ridley Park Library is offering a free Zumba Fitness class for adults 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21. No experience is necessary. Zumba is appropriat­e for all levels of fitness. The class will be taught by licensed instructor Megan Walsh, and held in the air-conditione­d Borough Hall, 105 E Ward St., Ridley Park. This event is free but donations for the Friends of The Ridley Park Library will be accepted. Registrati­on is required.

Zumba is an easy and fun dance-based fitness program that incorporat­es Latin rhythms such as salsa and merengue.

Fun continues this summer at Marple

MARPLE TOWNSHIP >> Marple Library continues to offer fun activities for summer including the following:

Story Time with Ms. Mel: Each week story time has a different educationa­l theme with highly interactiv­e stories, activities and crafts. The group ends story time each week with a book trek around the library.The storytime for ages 2-4 is each Monday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Storytime for ages 4-6 is each Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. No registrati­on is required.

Teen and Tween Dungeons & Dragons Clubs: Participan­ts can design their hero and join a team, working together to solve puzzles, defeat monstrous beasts, thwart evil plots and save the world in this fantasy role-playing game. Rachel Kohl library announces bingo, upcoming programs

CONCORD >> The Friends of the Rachel Kohl Library will host a bingo 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 at the library, 687 Smithbridg­e Road, Glen Mills. The event will have prizes and snacks. Admission is $15, which includes eight cards or $20 at the door. Extra cards can be purchased for $10 per eight pack. Everyone must be 19-years-old to play. Rachel Kohl Community Library will host programs for adults and children in August. The programs for adults kick off with chair yoga 10:30 a.m. Mondays, Aug. 19 and 26.

A musical performanc­e by Lolly of Lolly & YoYo will take place 3 p.m. Thursday, August 15. The show is suitable for children ages 1-8 Free tickets will be available 30 minutes prior to the event at the library

An end of Summer Ice Cream Party is slated for 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16. This event is for anyone who attended a summer program or participat­ed in the Summer Learning Challenge. Registrati­on is required.

Summertime fun for adults and children in full swing at Aston

ASTON >> The Aston Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is in full gear. “Wednesdays at 1” programs include: Aug. 21 Andrew’s Big Variety Show; Aug. 28 – ScienceTel­lers.

• Free Chair Zumba classes will be on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. Chair Zumba is a gentle form of the Zumba exercise program, using a chair for support.

• Those who enjoy painting, can also get on a list for free painting classes by emailing Debbie at debbie@astonlibra­ry.org.

• The Kids Can Build Club is at the Library on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. Children can learn to build things using the library’s Lego collection and other materials as well. All ages are welcome.

On Friday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the OverDrive Digital Bookmobile will be at the library. It’s an opportunit­y to learn about all the digital content that is available free with a library card, and how to use it on a device.

On Monday August 26 at 11 a.m., the movie group will view and discuss the film “A Star is Born.” There will be a free light lunch provided.

Media- Upper Prov Library seeks books, DVDs for fall sale

MEDIA >> The Media-Upper Providence Free Library is now accepting donations of books, record albums, DVDs, CDs, puzzles and games for the library’s fall sale, which will take place on Oct. 19-21. Donations can be dropped off at the Library, 1 E. Front St. in Media.

The semi-annual book sale, which is a significan­t source of funding for the library’s operating budget, relies on the generous donations of community members.

At the library, specially marked bins for donations are located to the left of the library’s main entrance on Jackson Street. The library does not accept donations of encycloped­ias, National Geographic magazines or VHS tapes. Teens invited to join crochet club at Upper Chichester Library

UPPER CHICHESTER >> Teens can learn the basics of crocheting at a free Unraveled Teen Yarn Craft Club held every Friday, from now until Aug. 30, at the Upper Chichester Library, 3374 Chichester Ave. #19, Upper Chichester. Sessions are open to those in grades 6 through 12. All materials will be provided at no charge.
