O’Mara hosts veterans expo at Marple Library
State Rep. Jennifer O’Mara, D-165 of Springfield, state Sen. Tim Kearney, D-26 of Swarthmore and U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-5 of Swarthmore, will hold a veterans expo, open to all constituents of the 165th Legislative District, 11 a.m. to
1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Marple Library, 2599 Sproul Road, Broomall. The expo will feature dozens of government and nonprofit agencies, as well as local businesses who will provide veterans with information on how they can lead healthier and happier lives.

• A Career and Resume Workshop will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13, at

• Essential Oil Class with Sandra Raikowski will be offered 1 p.m. Friday, Nov.
8. People can learn all about how essentials oils, heal, calm and cleanse.
• Knitting Class with Jacqueline will be held Saturdays, Nov. 9 and 16 and Dec.
14, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The class is ideal for those who want to learn to knit. Materials will be provided for free.
• A “Lunch, Listen and Learn about Opera Carmen” will be held on Tuesdays: Nov. 5, 12, 19 and 26 from noon to 2 p.m. Attendees should bring their own brown bag lunch and the library will provide coffee, tea and dessert. Discuss and learn about the opera Carmen.
• Susan Mulvihill will lead a book discussion on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 1-3 p.m. to discuss the book “The Immortal life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot.
• People are also invited to a holiday wreath making class 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21. There will be a small cost for materials.
