Still tickets available for Delco’s 1st-ever TEDx talk
MEDIA >> There are still tickets available for the first-ever Delaware County TEDx Conference that will be held at the Media Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m.
There are 12 speakers schedule for the event, each with a great idea worth spreading ... audience members will be in awe, be inspired and might even leave moved to tears - and it could all happen in one afternoon.
“This is our way of saying we love Media Borough and want to see it grow and take on new challenges,” says organizer Stacy Olkowski. “Organizing this event has been a truly rewarding experience and the more audience members there are the better the outcomes!”
Several local residents will be speaking including a few who reside right in Media. Among them will be David Shade, a disabled combat veteran, entrepreneur, CEO and a professional dog trainer, as well as John Nagl, headmaster of Haverford School.
TEDx is an international community that organizes TEDstyle events anywhere and everywhere, celebrating locallydriven ideas and elevating them to a global platform.
The theme of Grassroots showcases how every idea starts as a small concept, and requires some level of incubation and nurture. While the term grassroots often has a political connotation, it really embraces all ideas that grow when they involve their community. Because
Media has long supported the tenets of this kind of activism, it has been chosen as the theme for TEDxRoseTree.
