Six scholarshi­p players were enough for Villanova’s women’s basketball team to kick off the Big 5 portion of its schedule on a high note.

Madison Siegrist collected 23 points and eight rebounds to pace the Wildcats to a 60-44 victory over Saint Joseph’s.

Mary Gedaka scored

19 points and Cameron Onken pitched in with a career highs in points (eight) and rebounds

(13). The Wildcats used a

9-2 run at the end of the third quarter to seize the lead for good. Onken and Brooke Mullin hit back-toback 3-pointers to snap a

36-all deadlock. Claire Melia led the Hawks with 22 points and 15 rebounds, the only player in double figures. The Hawks shot just 23.7 percent (14-for-59) from the field.

Kayla Padilla poured in 24 points for her fifth

Men’s Basketball

Swarthmore may be the No. 1 team in Division III, but the Garnet aren’t the only team from Delaware County that is undefeated in the Centennial Conference.

Jack Clark scored 20 points to lead Haverford to a 75-58 victory over Dickinson. The Fords (7-1 overall) are 3-0 in Centennial Conference play for the first time in program history.
