Peaceful night of coloring at Ridley library

RIDLEY TOWNSHIP >> The Ridley Township Library invites the public to a night of peaceful coloring and good company when our Coloring for Grownups is held Wednesday, , Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. The library will supply all materials, as well as snacks to enjoy, so just bring yourself! Monthly Quizzo night will be Friday, Dec. 13th at 7 p.m. This month’s theme is Holiday Movies. Register your team of up to 4 and play trivia with us for fun and prizes! Registrati­on is required for Quizzo, due to space limitation­s. The library will host a holiday concert on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Vincent James and Friends will entertain with favorite Christmas songs. Vincent has held several successful concerts at the library, and has entertaine­d on stages all over the Philadelph­ia area. All ages are welcome to come and sing along! Reading to Animals at Ridley Park Library

RIDLEY PARK — The Ridley Park Library invites children in grades one to five into the library to read books to the Pals for Life pets. Pals for Life is a nonprofit organizati­on that provides opportunit­ies for reluctant readers to practice reading to animals. The program will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. in the children’s library. The event is free, but registrati­on is required. To register, please call the library at (610) 583-7207. Census event at Tinicum Library

TINICUM >> The U.S. Census Bureau will host a job informatio­n event at the Tinicum Memorial Public Library, 620 Seneca St., Essington, 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19. Computer access will be available for those who wish to apply online after speaking with the recruiters about becoming a census taker.

14. Children are welcome to drop in anytime from

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to make holiday crafts. In addition, there will be a “Buy One Get One Free” Book Sale on all adult and children’s books. All proceeds go directly to the library to help keep children reading.

Santa visits Upper Chichester Library

UPPER CHICHESTER >> The Upper Chichester Library is planning a gala inaugural Storybook Princess and Superheroe­s’ party featuring entertainm­ent, edibles and exquisite costumes to be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Upper Chichester Municipal/Township Building, 8500 Furey Road.

Participan­ts can dress as their favorite character as they enjoy a special appearance by Baby Shark. Lunch will be included in admission price of $25.

Storybook Princess and Super Hero Extravagan­za will be an opportunit­y for parents, grandparen­ts, aunts and uncles to get together with their little ones and create family memories. Everyone is welcome to bring their cameras.

Media Upper Providence Library offers assortment of December events

MEDIA >> The Media Upper Providence Library, in conjunctio­n with Philly Vegan Pop Flea Market, will hold a “Delco the Halls Market” 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the upstairs conference room of the library.

The library’s December Friday Film Club for adults over 18-years-old takes place every Friday at 1 p.m. in the upstairs theater. Hot Tea, pastries and popcorn served and discussion is offered after all movies.

Upcoming movies include Maria Callas, the first film to tell the life story of the legendary Greek/American opera singer completely in her own words, Dec. 6; Pavarotti , the riveting film that lifts the curtain on the icon who brought opera to the people, Dec. 13; and Amadeus on Dec. 20 tells the story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. There will be no movie on Friday, Dec. 27, but movie day will resume Jan. 3.

The library welcomes all knitters 6:30-8 p.m. Thursdays, Dec. 5 and 19, in the upper level of the library to knit hats and scarves for veterans and for the homeless. Beginners are always welcome. Knitters corner takes place on the first and third Thursday of every month where knitters continue teaching, learning and knitting, anything and everything.
