Last summer the Comedy Channel brought out some new episodes of the hysterical series “Drunk History.” Thankfully I have “Sound Off” for new episodes of “Drunk Current Events” all year long!

MORE TRUMP LIES

I have a pretty good idea why “From Norwood” — in the Sound Off of Dec. 15 — claims that Trump has done more for veterans than any other president. Because Trump himself said so. Not because it’s true — but because the relentless liar and braggart took credit for coming up with the idea of having veterans go to private doctors if they choose to, even though he did not. Congress approved the private-sector Veterans Choice health program in 2014 and Obama signed it into law. Trump expanded it, and that’s fine. It is, of course, hardly the same thing as what he claimed. Trump also incorrectly suggested that he helped reduce veterans’ suicide, that his administration was working “very, very hard” on the problem, and that the suicide figure had come down. But no decline has been registered during his administration. In addition, a recent report by the Government Accountability Office found that the VA had left millions of dollars unspent that were available for suicide prevention efforts, and that the VA had spent just $57,000 out of $6.2 million available for paid media, such as social media postings. This information is readily available from sites like Associated Press’s fact checker. But since those who blindly support Trump believe that AP and sources other than Fox are purveyors of “fake news,” they gladly believe the lies and exaggerations that come, unfiltered and unverified, from the “horse’s mouth.”

ALL ABOUT MONEY

I’m saddened to see that people in America can’t see all the damage this so-called man in office had done in the past three years — nothing but chaos and nothing but drama and always trying to blame it on the Democrats. Republicans and Democrats need to unite and stop this madness.

It is so sad. Half of them call themselves Christians.

They don’t know what Christianity is because if they did they will hang their heads in shame to stand behind someone that does not have the American people’s interest at heart. To say that they’re for the people is wrong. They’re there for themselves and what he can do for them to make them richer. There’s more to life than money and being rich. I’m rich because I have my Lord and savior on my side and I feel so sad that the people in Washington have not thought of nobody but themselves. It hurts my heart to hear this stuff every day about impeaching a president — and not that I’m for him but get him out of office, Get someone in there who really truly cares about our democracy and the people in this world. That’s all I have to say.

TALK ABOUT SERVICE

We all know Trump did not serve his country when he was young, But he sure is serving his country now, taking no pay, and every day it seems like he get stabbed in the back and knocked down by a Democrat. But he gets right back up and stands strong and fights for all our citizens.

DO-NOTHING REPUBLICANS

To “Dave in Garnet Valley” and all others who say the impeachment process is a waste of time and money and that the Democrats are getting nothing else done in Congress: There are 278 bipartisan passed bills sitting on Mitch McConnell’s desk that he won’t bring up for a vote in the Senate. All Moscow Mitch is doing is appointing right-wing, conservative judges, biasing our courts for a generation. It is not the Democrats who are doing nothing, it is the Republicans. All they do is defend and protect a president who is selling out our country to the Russians and enriching himself at the cost of the American taxpayer and American national security. Try learning what is going on in our country from news sources other than Fox News for a week and see if you can open your eyes to the truth instead of Trump’s 13,000+ lies.
