Edwards leads three-strong Friars charge in win over Carroll

Bonner-Prendergas­t put on an offensive clinic in its 81-62 victory over Archbishop Carroll Friday night.

Three players eclipsed the

20-point mark for the Friars. Junior guard Malik Edwards was the high scorer with 25 points, followed by Donovan Rodriguez

(23) and Tyreese Watson (21). John Camden poured in 21 points and drilled five 3-point field goals for the Patriots.

In another Catholic League boys game:

WEST CATHOLIC 58, CARDINAL O’HARA 55 >> The Lions (12-2) allowed a six-point lead after three quarters fall by the wayside and lost for the second time in three games. No further informatio­n was reported to the Daily Times.

In nonleague action:

GARNET VALLEY 65, W.C. RUSTIN 61 >> Garnet Valley showed no signs of packing it in.

The Jaguars trailed by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, but stormed all the way back for the victory.

Carl Schaller scored 13 of his game-high 24 points in the second half for GV. Gannon McKee added 12 points, Valtanis Apostolopo­ulos had nine, and Max Jackowski finished with eight.

In the Inter-Ac League: EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 65, PENN CHARTER 51 >> Andrew Alikakos powered the Churchmen with 27 points and Alex Capitano contribute­d 21. After falling behind 15-11 after the first quarter, the Churchmen outscored the Quakers 54-36 the rest of the way.

Will Delaney banked four treys and finished with 13 points in the winning effort.

Girls Basketball

Cardinal O’Hara came oh-soclose to conquering NeumannGor­etti.

Twice this season the Lions have gone down to the wire with the vaunted Saints, but have come up short each time. In overtime, O’Hara dropped a 52-50 decision to the Saints.

Siobhan Boylan scored 17 points and Sydni Scott added 10 for the Lions. Maggie Doogan chipped in with nine points.

N-G’s Diamond Johnson, who is the reigning Catholic League MVP, led all players with 22 points.

Elsewhere

League:

ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 57, LITTLE FLOWER 13 >> Eleven players scored at least two points for the Patriots (11-6, 6-4).

Rose Henry and Hope Syron in the

Catholic netted a team-high eight points for Carroll, who led 35-8 at halftime. Grace O’Neill and Maggie Grant added seven apiece.

W.C. RUSTIN 60, ACADEMY PARK 46 >> Gabrielle Jackson scored a gamehigh 17 points, but the Knights fell on the road.

LaShay Jackson tossed in 12 points and Semaji Young added six points in defeat.

Grace Plone (14 points), Sam Greer (13) and Laine McGurk (13) all scored in double figures for Rustin.
