CORVID prompts municipalities to extend tax periods

With COVID-19 wreaking havoc across the county and state, many municipalities have opted to extend tax filing deadlines and/or discount rate periods. The following is a list of information readily available Wednesday. Note this is an incomplete list and may be updated later. Some municipal offices are temporarily closed and information online is limited, so not all municipalities in the county are listed.

•Aldan: Discount period extended to April 30. Regular face value period extended to June

30.

•Aston: Business privilege license and business privilege and/or mercantile tax extended to July 31.

•Brookhaven: Discount extended to April 30.

•Chadds Ford: Discount period extended to April 30. Regular face value period begins May 1. Deadline remains Sept.

20 with penalty period beginning Oct. 1.

•Chester Heights: Discount period extended to April 30. Face value extended to Oct. 31. Penalty period begins Nov. 1.

•Concord: Discount period extended to April 30. Face value extended to Oct. 31. Penalty period begins Nov. 1.

•Darby Township: Discount period extended to April 30.

•Eddystone: Discount period extended to April 30.

•Haverford: Discount period extended to April 30.

•Lansdowne: Discount period extended to May 2.

•Marcus Hook: Discount period extended to April 30. All other municipal tax deadlines remain unchanged.

•Marple: No decision

on whether to extend the April 2 due date yet.

•Media: Business real estate tax discount period extended to April 30. Business privilege and mercantile tax filing date extended to July 15.

•Middletown: Business privilege and mercantile tax filing deadline extended to July 15. No extension of discount period for real estate taxes.

•Radnor: Business privilege and mercantile tax filing date extended to July 15. Property tax discount period extended to April 30. Face value period extended to June 20.

•Ridley Park: Discount period extended to April 30.

•Ridley Township: Discount period extended to June 30. Face value period extended to Dec. 31. Penalty period runs Jan.

1-15, 2021.

•Springfield Township: Discount period extended to April

30. Awaiting guidance on other tax deadlines.

•Trainer: Two week extension to pay taxes.

•Upland: Discount period extended to June 1. Face value date extended to Aug. 30.

•Upper Darby: Discount period extended to April 30.

•Upper Providence: Discount period extended to April 30.
