TRUMP IS THE ANSWER

-

Everyday I read about Trump haters. I admire him and his task force team going on national TV every day trying to help this country understand this coronavirus. All I see is our governor keeping our state in lockdown and not helping the out-ofwork people. And of course our wonderful Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on national TV, bragging about her freezer full of ice cream. Ha! What a joke! Who is helping this country? It’s our president. He didn’t cause this virus. How about blaming China for this mess? Anyway we will all be paying for this shutdown. So come on, Trump haters, let’s hear your ideas instead of blaming him.

PHIL WAS THE MAN

To Phil Heron: Thank you for all your years of service to our community. We’ll miss your humor and wit as your columns always brought a smile or a laugh. People make fun of me for still getting a newspaper in this digital age. But the newspaper has always kept me more informed and more in touch with Delco.

OIL THE SAME TO ME

The time has come:

The U.S. strategic oil reserves. President Trump proposed replenishing them last month. But Chuckie opposed that calling it a bailout for big oil. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer boasted last month that Democrats stripped out a “$3 billion bailout for big oil” from the $2 trillion coronavirus economic relief bill. But he found $25 million for the Kennedy Center to be somehow related to the coronavirus thingee. The “bailout” was a plan to purchase 30 million barrels of oil for the strategic petroleum reserve. At the time, oil was trading at about $20 a barrel. Today, oil was trading at negative $38 a barrel. Schumer may oppose a big-government bailout for big oil, but can he really say no to a big-oil bailout for big government when the oil producers will pay the government to take the oil?

WHAT’S THE RUSH?

Don’t rush things too fast to go out. If you do go out, go to any E.R. first and base your final decision off of that. Or that could be your next and final stop ... is it worth that?

PHIL WILL BE MISSED

Dear Mr. Heron: I read your last editorial today and felt sad. I knew you were leaving after I read your Monday’s column and was very disappointed. You will be sorely missed. Please continue to write from time to time even if you are not the editor any longer. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. I do hope the hard copy of the paper continues.

ENOUGH COMPLAINTS

I’m reading Sound Off with all the anti-Trump comments. First off one writer criticized cutting funding for the WHO, whose top man is under control of China and who didn’t help by disclosing the virus coming for the world. President Trump did not blame the WHO for the virus he blamed China. Next comment story about stimulus checks delayed so they could have the signature of Trump on them. There are millions of checks going out so they’re delayed because President Trump has to personally sign every one of them? There are stimulus funds allocated for small business but they are delayed because Nancy Pelosi is taking a break. I don’t see one complaint about that, I didn’t see any complaints when stimulus funds were being held up as Nancy wanted money for immigrants and Planned Parenthood. ANDY FROM HAVERTOWN

WAY TO GO, PHIL

Just wanted to wish

Phil Heron congratulations on his retirement. He was a great editor and will be missed. Thank you for putting my pictures in Focus on Delco too. Enjoy and be safe.

NOT OF THIS EARTH

“Rich from Concord,” I truly think that “Bob from Sharon Hill” and “Bill from Broomall” are living on another planet. They have no clue what this president has done for this nation, especially during this trying time. Do you think it’s possible that they still have some leftover Kool-Aid and are drinking it?
