Hunt helps Neumann join the win column

Sophomore Teresa Hunt poured in 22 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out two assists in 25 minutes as Neumann rolled past St. Mary’s (Md.), 74-52, for its first win of the season.

Overall, 12 players scored for the Knights. Tierra Harris and Chelsea Keebler came off the bench to score 11 and nine points, respective­ly. DREXEL 51, JAMES MADISON 48 » Hannah Nihill and Keishana Washington combined for 38 points to help the Dragons rally from a 17-point, second-half deficit. Nihill hit a career-high five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points. She also had six assists and five steals. Washington saved 16 of her 18 points for the second half and tallied the final four points of the game to give the Dragons (11-7, 8-5 CAA) the lead for good. CENTRAL FLORIDA 61, TEMPLE 37 » Mia Davis became the program leader in made free throws in the loss for the Owls.

Davis connected on 4 of 6 at the foul line to give her 404 made free throws in her career. She finished with eight points. Jasha Clinton led Temple (9-10, 9-7 AAC) with 10 points.

SETON HALL 67, VILLANOVA 55 » The Pirates capitalize­d on Villanova’s cold shooting in the second half to pull away. The Wildcats shot just 25 percent overall, 20 percent from 3-point range in the second half and were outscored 38-27.

Maddy Siegrist paced the Wildcats with a game-high 27 points and 10 rebounds. Sarah Mortensen added 11 points and nine rebounds.

Men’s Basketball

George Mason took control early and rolled to an 89-54 victory over La Salle in the regular-season finale for both teams.

The Patriots used a 16-4 run to open up a 21-9 lead. Then they went on an 11-0 tear to take a 47-23 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Jared Kimbrough paced the Explorers (9-14, 6-11 Atlantic 10) with 21 points. David Beatty chipped in with 12 points and Scott Spencer added 10 points and five rebounds. TEMPLE CALLED OFF » The game between Temple and Central Florida was canceled because of COVID-19 cases within the Temple program.

The American Athletic Conference said the game at Orlando will not be made up.

Temple (5-10) has lost six of its last seven games.
