Mary Ellen Magdalena McMullin, age 75, of Thornton, PA, was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to many. Known by her family and friends as Mel, Mary Ellen passed peacefully on to eternal life on March 18, 2021 knowing that she was loved and a positive influence on her family.

Mary Ellen was born and raised in Chester, PA to Joseph Paul and Blanche (Zadylak) Yarusinski. She attended Resurrection of our Lord “Rez” School and graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School for Girls of Moylan in 1963. Mary Ellen resided in Marcus Hook, Boothwyn and most recently Thornton, PA for 35 years while also enjoying a 2nd home in Lewes, DE for over 40 years. In her early years, she was a Lab Technician at St. Francis Hospital. After raising her children, she returned to work in the medical field. She always enjoyed celebrating the good times with family and friends, honoring traditions, gardening, time at the beach and traveling.

She is survived by two daughters; Michelle McMullin and husband, Anthony D’Ambrosio, and Kathryn Young and husband Anthony, two grandchildren; Joseph and Mary Kate D’Ambrosio, her brother Joseph (Diana) Yarusinski, nephew, Joseph (Tricia) Yarusinski, niece, Jessica (Matthew) Yarusinski-Gerlich, and nephew, Benjamin Yarusinski.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Willard M. McMullin who passed in 2019.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 9:30-10:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. The funeral mass can also be viewed via Livestream on Wednesday, March 24th at 10:30 am by visiting www.paganofuneralhome. com. Interment will be held privately at a future date.
