NO FREIND OF FACTS

-

Mr. Freind would have us believe fraud occurs in every election. Widespread fraud may have transpired because of mail-in ballots. Mr. Trump just failed to prove his case . Well Freind, it wasn’t for the lack of trying . Sixty-three lawsuits all withdrawn or dismissed by the courts. Attorney General William Barr and officials in each of the 50 states found no evidence of widespread fraud or irregularities. Federal agencies overseeing election security said it was the most secure in American history. 2020 had the highest voter turnout by percentage since 1900. What is your problem, Mr. Freind? A true American would be giving the American public a pat on the back for turning out and fulfilling their civic duty and asking, this is great, how do we get 100% participation!

MANY THANKS

Many thanks to all the volunteers, clinicians and staff managing the Delco-Chester County vaccination effort at Aston Community Center. Everyone was pleasant, professional and hardworking. County residents owe each of you a debt of gratitude for your service to help us be safe.

WHAT IN THE WORLD?

We the readers appreciate the fact the Delco Times does not censor or edit the opinion columnists that appear in our paper. However, after the insurrection at our nation’s Capitol might a citation after an unsubstantiated sentence be required? Case in point; Mr. Freind: “Fraud occurred, just as it has in every election since the beginning of time. And quite possibly given the unprecedented use of mail-in ballots, widespread fraud may have transpired.” Even including wording like, quite possibly and may have, how does that get published? Please remind Mr. Freind and your other columnist this is a newspaper and not their personal media accounts. We the readers deserve better.

CHANGE OF HEART

“Pauly from Prospect” believes the filibuster in the U.S. Senate is dysfunctional and “needs to be ended.” I’m wondering if “Pauly” has held this view for longer than two months -- i.e. if “Pauly” also had that view when Republicans were in the majority in the Senate and Democrats actively used the filibuster to delay or otherwise to prevent Republican-sponsored bills from being passed into law -- or if is this instead a conveniently new position “Pauly” has adopted.

WHICH IS IT?

USE YOUR HEAD

What’s dumb? Continuing to worship Donald Trump after the deaths of over 500,000 in our country, his proven lies about COVID and voter fraud and his rabble-rousing that caused an attack, death and destruction in our capital What’s dumber? Refusing to get vaccinated and risking your life and the lives of your family and friends! Do you know someone who has had polio? I do. Have you had measles,

mumps and chicken pox? I have. I only survived because my parents bravely took me to get the polio vaccine and had an excellent doctor and the means to care for me when I was so terribly sick. It is unbelievable that in the most democratic and successful country in the world some Americans cannot see the huckster for what he is.

BALONEY AND CHEESE

“JR” listed almost word-forword the same misleading set of “facts” about Trump that someone listed on Sound Off weeks ago, and then smugly asked if there are any questions. “Greatest economy in

U.S. history?” By whose measure? What did Trump do, specifically, to cause it? Record unemployment - again - how and why? Did Trump say, “I’m going to lower unemployment for women and minorities specifically?” What actions did he undertake to accomplish this? Why is ISIS no longer relevant? And are “Christian heads in Syria” the only heads that matter? Warp speed - was that something only Trump was capable of initiating? After months of downplaying the virus? And, we are now “energy independent?” Says who? Because of which Trumpian actions, specifically? Anyone can come up with a list of baloney in retrospect to make someone look good. But not just anyone can show actual cause and effect - and certainly not “JR.”
