D’Ambrosio, Springfiel­d baseball blank Harriton

Luke D‘Ambrosio tossed a three-hitter with five strikeouts and no walks in Springfiel­d’s 9-0 win over Harriton in Central Legue baseball action Tuesday.

Springfiel­d’s Jeff Kilgallen belted a home run and Cole Grande went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Reese Bean had a pair of hits and Joey Little knocked in two runs for the Cougars.

Elsewhere in the Central League:

RIDLEY 7, HAVERFORD 4 » Mike Happersett pitched five solid innings, striking out eight, and went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Green Raiders past the Fords. Gavin Severa (triple), Mike Hooker and Matt Rowles all had two base knocks.

Cole Dempsey tripled and Chris D’Orazio was 2-for-3 with a double for the Fords.

GARNET VALLEY 12, LOWER MERION 9 » The Jaguars grabbed an 8-0 lead thanks in part to a grand slam by Logan Nelson. Matt Marowski, Ryan Wootten and

Frank Yocum all knocked in two runs. Josh McCormick had a big afternoon for Lower Merion with seven RBIs.

PENNCREST 10, RADNOR 5 » Quentin Perilli had a single, double and four RBIs for the Lions, who plated six runs in the fourth. Brian MacCurtin was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored out of the leadoff spot.

Penncrest starter Kellen Davis allowed only four hits and one earned run while striking one eight in six innings.

In the Catholic League:

CARDINAL O’HARA 17, BISHOP MCDEVITT 0 » Frank Parotti, Kyle Calderaro, Pat Ahearn, and Dylan Ayers combined to throw a no-hitter. Isaiah Tinley-Cobb collected three hits, while Quinn Martin and Brandon Fanalli had two apiece for the Lions.

In nonleague action:

HAVERFORD SCHOOL 7, BISHOP SHANAHAN 1 » Ryan Getz had two hits, while Eric Genther and Jake Stacey each drove in two runs for the Fords. Mike Tallarida

blasted a solo home run. Ryan Reed pitched four no-hit innings with seven strikeouts to earn the win.

Girls Lacrosse

Devon Maillet, Danielle McNeely, Kaitlin Neichpiel and Molly Omrod combined for 16 goals and seven assists to power Strath Haven to a 20-9 victory over Lower Merion in Central League girls lacrosse.

Maillet led the way with five goals and two assists. McNeely finished with four goals and three assists. Neichpiel tallied four times and Omrod had three goals and two assists. GARNET VALLEY 19, HARRITON 7 » Maddie Kadish, Sydney Pyon and Kate Stankavage powered the offense with four goals each. Kadish also had two assists and two caused turnovers. Kait Henning added three goals.

In the Catholic League: ARCH. CARROLL 20, ARCH. WOOD 1 » Ella Wright had two goals as 19 players scored for the Patriots. Lydia Malone, Ken

Barnett, Brooke Wilson, Makayla Henry, Emma Talego, Karli Dougherty and Nicole Pawelec added one goal and one assist each.

In the Inter-Ac League: SPRINGSIDE CHESTNUT HILL 13, NOTRE DAME 12 » Katie Onderdonk led the Irish with six goals and five draw controls. Dani Falcone had two goals and one assist, while Cat Leary had one goal and three assists.

In the Catholic Academies League:

GWYNEDD MERCY 20, SACRED HEART 2 » Aubrey Conners and Zoe Bounds scored the goals for the Lions.

Boys Lacrosse

Austin Conner collected five goals and four assists as Strath Haven rolled to a 16-2 triumph over Lower Merion. Christian Mazure had three goals and one assist. Tate Gorman had a hat trick. Matt Faggioli contribute­d two goals and five assists. HAVERFORD 18, UPPER DARBY 0 » Matt Davis made four saves to record the shutout.

Ben Devitis and Keith Heinerichs were a combined 14for-21 in the faceoff circle, while Colin McFadyen and Andreas McKendry scored three goals each. SPRINGFIEL­D 14, MARPLE NEWTOWN 2 » Jack Clark led the way with six goals and one assist for the Cougars. Robbie O’Brien, Brett Gougler and Ryan O’Connor pitched in two goals each.

Field Hockey

Defense showed the way as Interboro blanked Reading, 1-0, to extend its winning streak to seven games.

Grace Domingo-Whitfield, Emma Neves and Audrey Sheats were solid in front of goalie Mackena Harley (three saves). Daeshonna Johnson converted a pass from Juliana Wiseley in the second half for the only goal.

Boys Tennis

Jay Crowther pulled out a tough victory at first singles to lead the Haverford School to a 6-1 Inter-Ac League victory over Springside Chesnut Hill. Crowther topped David Lubell, 7-6, 6-4. Andrew Minnis and Joaquin Arias also won singles matches in straight sets for the Fords, while Adamya Aggarwal and Christian Crowder took first doubles, 6-0, 6-7, 10-6.

EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 6, MALVERN 1 » Adam Oliva and Michael Gobran paced the victory with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at third doubles. Petey Dugery and Dhilan Lavu, Xin Xin Fang and John Bishop and John Hong and Alex Zou won in straight sets to sweep doubles.

In the Central League:

RADNOR 6, STATH HAVEN 1 »

Sam Hilbert and Ryan Movsowitz recorded a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory at second doubles to lead a sweep of the pairs competitio­n for Radnor. Ariston Fonseca and Garrett Spillerman dropped just one game each at first and second singles, respective­ly.

Peter Alexander, Justin Xu and Aaron Sun swept the singles in straight sets to pace the Pioneers.
