Thomas’ five goals leads Marple Newtown to a win

Cole Thomas led the offense and Jack Welsh stood tall in goal to lead Marple Newtown to an 11-4 victory over Lower Merion in Central League boys lacrosse action Wednesday.

Thomas scored five goals and Welsh made seven saves. Damien Bosche added two goals and two assists. In the Inter-Ac League: EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 17, SPRINGSIDE CHESTNUT HILL 3» Dylan Jasczc (three assists), Tristan Whitaker and T.J. Lamb tallied three goals each for the Churchmen. Reilly Dugan pitched in with two goals and three assists.

Girls Lacrosse

Sydney Pyon had four goals and three ground balls to pace Garnet Valley to a 19-1 victory over Ridley in the Central League.

Maddie Kalish (six ground balls) and Sophia Kingsborou­gh added three goals each, while Kate Sankavage had two goals, seven ground balls and three draw controls.

Girls Golf

Sydney Worrell shot an 8-over par 43 at Overbrook Golf Club to pace Notre Dame to its second win in as many days with a 242-245 victory over Episcopal Academy. The Irish defeated Baldwin, 253-315 on Monday.

Senior Lauren Jones carded an even-par 35 to lead EA.
