Romando and Ott carry load for Radnor boys lacrosse

Damien Romando and Casey Ott scored two goals each as Radnor rallied for a 7-5 victory over Garnet Valley in Central League boys lacrosse action Tuesday night.

Radnor scored three times in the fourth quarter to erase a 5-4 deficit. Chris Begeir added one goal and two assists and Ryan Goldstein had one goal and one assist for Radnor.

Colin Smith topped Garnet Valley with two goals. Joey Halloran and Max Busenkell chipped in with one goal and one assist each.

Elsewhere in the Central League:

SPRINGFIEL­D 8, STRATH HAVEN 5 » The Cougars allowed just two goals through the first three periods. Goalie Ethan Johnson sparked the defensive effort with eight saves. Jack Clark tallied twice, Jimmy Kennedy handed out two assists and Brett Gougler had one goal and one assist to lead the offense.

RIDLEY 21, UPPER DARBY 1 » Ten players scored for the Raiders, led by Gavin Kingsborou­gh with three goals. Jack Willis (two assists), Blaise Harris, Evan Zappone, Matt Morris and Owen Bosak chipped in with two goals each.

MARPLE NEWTOWN 14, HAVERFORD 3» The Tigers opened up a 6-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Charlie Box set the tone with four goals and two assists. CJ Lane had three goals and three assists, while Damien Bosche chipped in with three goals and one assist.

Quinn Carson scored twice and Jimmy Klein once for the Fords.

In the Inter-Ac League: MALVERN PREP 8, EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 5 » Two goals from Max Strid and two assists from Tristan Whitaker were not enough to lift the Churchmen over the Friars. Dylan Jaszcz, Reilly Dugan and TJ Lamb added one goal each for EA.

In the Pioneer Athletic Conference:

METHACTON 17, INTERBORO 2 » John Schibello netted both goals for the Bucs.

Baseball

Zach Taylor was on top of his game as Chichester blanked Interboro, 5-0, in the Del Val League.

Taylor went the distance and the only hit he allowed was a bunt single. He fanned nine and did not walk a batter. Andrew Scott and Anthony Caramanco led the offense with two hits and one RBI each.

In the Catholic League: BONNER-PRENDERGAS­T 10, ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 0 » Kevin Heinrich and Ryan Kearney combined on a nine-strikeout, five-hitter. Heinrich fanned five in 3.2 innings to get the win. Kearney whiffed four in 1.2 innings. Michael Anderson (three hits), Austin Cannon and James Sousa drove in two runs each to pace the offense.

Harold Ivery had two hits for the Patriots.

In the Bicentenni­al League: DELCO CHRISTIAN 11, JENKINTOWN 8 » Robert Lucas laced a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning to break an 8-all tie and then set the Drakes down in order in the bottom of the inning to secure the victory.

Lucas finished 3-for-3, reached base five times, had 3 RBIs and scored twice. He also pitched 3.1 innings in relief to get the win. Jordan Mitchell added two hits and two RBIs.

In the Inter-Ac League: SPRINGSIDE CHESTNUT HILL 8, HAVERFORD SCHOOL 2 » Jonathan Bautista fanned seven and allowed five hits in 6.2 innings and had three hits including a threerun homer for the Blue Devils.

Will Ferris had the lone RBI for the Fords.

Softball

Emma Tansky tossed a 10-strikeout, three-hitter as Episcopal Academy

topped Notre Dame in five innings, 11-1. Tansky also had two hits.

Hailee Moran slugged a homer while going 3-for-3 with four RBIs to pace the offense. Elliana Hopple added three hits, including a triple and three RBIs.

In the Catholic League:

CARDINAL O’HARA 16, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0 » Maeve Boston hurled a three-hit shutout and went 3-for-3 with four runs scored. Meredith Hannigan also scored four times and had two hits. Caitlin Jordan, Rylie Pellegrino and Gabby Gray pitched in with two safeties each.

ARCHBISHOP RYAN 6, ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 2 » The Raiders scored four late runs to take the battle of the unbeaten teams. Lauren Martin had two hits, including a double and RBI for the Patriots. Cheyenne Niehoff also had two safeties.

In the Del Val League

ACADEMY PARK 10, PENN WOOD 1 » Sierra Thomas went the route and fanned five. Ashiya Young slugged a homer and drove in three runs. Maria Santos drove in the Patriots’ run.

In the Ches-Mont League:

HENDERSON 11, SUN VALLEY 1 » Lacie Gilpin drove in Hailey Lipka for the Vanguards’ lone run.

In nonleague action:

Ava

Franz had a homer, three RBIs and three runs scored as the Eagles fell in eight innings. Ariana Davis added two hits and three RBIs. Marisa Taylor and Sydney Scarpato finished with two hits and two runs scored each.

Girls Track

Nevaeh Davis swept the 100and 200-meter dashes in District 1 qualifying times to lead Penn Wood over Academy Park (58-33), Chichester (56-36) and Interboro (62-20).

Tynia Pratt-Davis (100 hurdles) also was an individual winner for the Patriots, who also won the 4 x 100 and 4 x 800 relays.

Rebecca Roberts won the shot put, discus and javelin for Interboro, which beat Chester (39-35), Chichester (48-36) and Interboro (46-38). Aniya Boland was first in the high jump for the Bucs. Academy Park defeated Chester (39-33) and Chichester (42-35), while the Clippers knocked off the Eagles (36-31).

Alina LaForest captured the 800 and 300 hurdles to lead Chester. Kamani Jones was first in the 400 for the Clippers, who also won the 4 x 400. Hayley Harper paced Chi with wins in the long and triple jumps. Teammate Claire Jacobs took first in the 1,600.
