CELEBRATE MOM WITH FIGHTINS BASEBALL, ‘FRIED GREEN TOMATOES’
Here are some events planned for this weekend throughout the region: • Fathom Events marks Mother’s Day with a 30th anniversary screenings of “Fried Green Tomatoes” in select area theaters, as part of the TCM Big Screen Classics series. The screenings include exclusive insights from Turner Classic Movies’ Ben Mankiewicz. In addition to Sunday’s screening, the film will be shown next Wednesday and Thursday. • After being sidelined for a year by the pandemic, minor league baseball has returned to FirstEnergy Stadium, Reading, where the Reading Fightin Phils are hosting the Erie SeaWolves for their first homestand of the 2021season. Games are scheduled for today and Friday at 7:05 p.m., Saturday at 6:45 p.m. and Sunday at 2:15 p.m. The Mascot Band will perform a pregame concert on Saturday, and Sunday’s pregame Community Music Showcase will feature the Bishop Shanahan High School Jazz Band.
