So you were waiting for your turn to get the COVID-19 vaccine; you know, after the older people and first responders and all that got theirs.

After that, time just flew by and you kind of ... forgot?

Or maybe you had planned to get vaccinated, had a date lined up ... and something else came up. You were going to get around to it, right?

Or perhaps there’s something else to it ... worried about reactions to the shot? Have a fear of needles? A reason more political, perhaps?

Ah, come now. You know getting a vaccine is the right thing to do, and while other incentives out there seem a little more financially advantageous, a couple of Phillies tickets wouldn’t be such a bad bargain in return for a free shot of a safeguard for your body, now would it?

The Phillies announced Thursday that they are teaming up with the experts at Penn Medicine to host a COVID-19 Vaccination Awareness Day & Clinic during the upcoming weekend series against the Atlanta Braves at Citizens Bank Park.

Fans who have a game ticket and are 18 years of age or older are eligible to receive a one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine shot.

Ballpark employees are also eligible to be stick-ees.

The stick-ers will be trained healthcare providers from Penn Medicine, who will also be available to answer any questions anyone might have.

“This is a great opportunity for our fans to get vaccinated if they haven’t already,” said Phillies vice-president David Buck. “We would like to thank Penn Medicine for stepping up to the plate and providing this invaluable and free service.”

University of Pennsylvania Health System chief medical officer PJ Brennan complimented the Phillies for creating this vaccination availability for local citizens.

“Partners like the Phillies help us reach more people in more creative locations, where we can not only administer the vaccine but also discuss how vital vaccination is to beating COVID-19,” Brennan said. “Every shot makes a difference.”

The vaccination clinic will be located on the Suite Patio (adjacent to the Boardwalk Eats concessions area in left field), beginning when gates open and continuing until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 10.

Those receiving vaccines will be given two tickets to a future Phillies game, with options of games against the Miami Marlins (June 29-July 1) or San Diego Padres (July 2-4). Concession credit for a hot dog and soda will
