Garzon’s jumper lifts Villanova to win over Lehigh

Lior Garzon’s jumper with 21 seconds left capped a Villanova comeback from an 11-point fourthquar­ter deficit in a 65-50 win over Lehigh Wednesday night.

Brooke Mullin scored 11 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter, including the first five of the frame. She added five rebounds and five steals. Lucy Olsen led all scorers with 22 points, including 6-for-7 at the line to ice it. Garzon finished with 11 points. Brianna Herlihy paired eight points with 12 rebounds for Villanova (3-3). The Wildcats held a 2913 edge over the game’s final 10 minutes.

LEBANON VALLEY 67, WIDENER 61 » Jordan D’Ambrosio (Springfiel­d) scored 13 points, and Charlotte Stern supplied 11 points off the bench. But the Pride had no answer for Cristina Fernandez and Daleyn Stabler, who scored 21 points each and combined for 19 rebounds.

Nicole Barnes (Garnet Valley) had eight points and nine boards before fouling out for the Pride (4-3, 0-1 MAC Commonweal­th).

Men’s Basketball

William Blet posted a doubledoub­le of 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Eastern to 75-67 win over Scranton Wednesday night. Sam Gallardo and Kaeshawn Ward backed him with 14 points apiece, Gallardo added five assists.

Blet hit a basket early in the second half to put the Eagles (5-2) up by 20, and they coasted from there to the nonleague triumph. MORAVIAN 80, CABRINI 78 » Alex Dietz’s jumper at the buzzer gave him 15 points on the night, and gave the Greyhounds a dramatic victory.

Christian Lane (Bonner-Prendergas­t) led the Cavaliers with 18 points, five steals and five assists. He shot 5-for-8 from 3-point range to rally the Cavs (4-4) back onto level terms after a late deficit. Ryan Byars added 18 points and seven boards, and Aquil Stewart and Joshua Jones supplied 14 points each. Jones added nine boards.

LEBANON VALLEY 78, WIDENER 63 » Jared Peters scored 16 points, and Matt Daulerio added 14 points. But the Pride had no answer for the 19 points and 18 rebounds put up by Evan Timochenko. Steven Matlack chipped in 14 points for the Pride (4-2, 0-1 MAC Commonweal­th).
