ROSE VALLEY » Hedgerow Theatre Company and Delaware County Community College are teaming up to present a rare theatrical experience, Jewel Walker’s Tuesday. With a limited two-week run from April 21 through May 1 on Hedgerow’s stage, this double Barrymore Award-winning miniature masterpiece is directed by Stephen Patrick Smith.

Tuesday features a cityscape in everyday America, from dawn to dusk. Reminiscent of the silent films of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, an ensemble of agile actors bring the story to life through movement and music, without uttering a word. The sparkling multi-generational theatre piece has charmed audiences of all ages off Broadway and across the country with its humor, grace, and heartfelt evocation of timeless values. Tuesday is the creation of legendary theatre artist and teacher, Jewel Walker. The play evolved out of teaching exercises and performance pieces used in his classes. It was made into a full-length show in the early 1970s. Because it was created mostly during the ’70s, it depicts certain facets of life that are disappearing or have vanished, capturing a particular moment in time.

Hedgerow Theatre is at 64 Rose Valley Road. Cast members include Dontay Driver, John Hoover, Anthony Jennings, Ranita Lawrence, Chelsea Lombard, Corrina O’Lock, Connor Wiseley, and understudies Tyler Reichle and Oniha Warren. Stage crew includes Peter St. Amour, G Wonder Gaye, and Brayan Torres-Alvarez. Producers are Marcie Bramucci and Stephen Patrick Smith; Stage manager is Cara Ochs; and the props, costumes and set decoration are by Mimi Kenney Smith.

Tuesday preview performance tickets on April 21 are $20. During the show’s run, adult tickets are $30, youth tickets for those under 18 are $20. For tickets or group discounts, call the Box Office at 610-565-4211 or visit http://www.hedgerowtheatre.org.
