Conner’s late goal lifts Haven to win

Laura Conner came through with the winning goal late in the game to give Strath Haven an 11-10 victory over Pennsbury in nonleague girls lacrosse action Saturday.

Conner paced the Panthers with five goals. Annie Dignazio pitched in with two goals.

The Wildcats proved to be too much for the Jaguars in a battle of two of the top Class 3A teams in District 1.

OJR opened up a 7-0 lead at halftime and never looked back.

Mia Zebley tallied twice, and Mia Raucci once to help GV win the second half, 3-0. Kate Stankavage pitched in with three draw controls and one caused turnover while goalie Mak Butler made nine saves.

CONESTOGA 15, SPRINGFIEL­D 10 » Kate Galica showed the way for the Pioneers with four goals, three assists, three draw controls, three caused turnovers and one ground ball. Chloe Brown added four goals, three ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover.

EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 19, GERMANTOWN FRIENDS 4 » Alexa Capozzoli led the high-powered offense with six goals and one caused turnover. Lex Ventresca paired four goals with two assists, three ground balls and one caused turnover. Brooke Stocku also scored four times and handed out one assist.

Boys Lacrosse

Max Busenkell finished with two goals and five assists to set the single-season program record for helpers to lead Garnet Valley to an 11-4 win over Wilson.

Busenkell, an All-Delco and Notre Dame signee, has 66 assists this season. Ryan Nealon and Luke Mingioni added three goals each, while Sam DiTrolio went 12-for-16 at the X. EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 15, PENN CHARTER 9 » Lucas Slate powered the Churchmen with three goals and four assists. Dylan Jaszcz found the back of the net four times and Tristan Whitaker had two goals and three assists. Nash Womack made 12 saves in goal.

Aydan DiRocco scored three goals to go with two assists, and Avi Mehl added a hat trick for the Fords Friday. Wills Burt paired two goals with an assist, and Chuck Cacciutti and Trey Campbell combined for 11 saves.
