Gaffney’s arm, bat power Top Lumber Expos

Kyle Gaffney came through on the hill and at the plate to lead the Top Lumber Expos past the Media Mustangs in the Delco MSBL Sunday.

Gaffney combined with Brian Miller on the bump and supplied two hits and two RBIs on offense. Ben Thorpe also had two hits and two ribbies, while Matt Nelson pitched in with a two-run double. Ben Mutz and Kevin Archer added one hit and one RBI each.

Softball

Mike Baines and Bill Masterson collected six hits apiece as Hunt’s Wingmen topped Reapers twice in the Millennium League, 18-6 and 11-8.

Baines, Masterson and Evan Steinman poked three hits each in the opener. Bains and Masterson added three more safeties in the nightcap. Frank Beecher belted a homer and Derek Hummel contribute­d two hits to make Frank Magee a double winner.

BEHMKE CONSTRUCTI­ON 19, JOHNNY B’S 17 » Mike Malkoun put together a solid 5-for-5 game in the opener with a three-run triple to send Behmke to its seventh win of the season. Brian Gross went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, while Tommy Nardelli was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

MARY’S MOB 15-11, MARTY MAGEE’S HERE FOR BEERS 11-15 » Dan Boyle slugged two dingers while going 3-for-4 in the nightcap to help Magee’s gain a split. Mike Dinella was 3-for-3 and Tyler Fullington and Angelo Koskinas added two hits each. No details on Game 1. In the Marcus Hook Sunday League:

GRIDIRON PUB TOUCANS 2117, UPLAND A.C. 4-5 » Mark “HollyWood” McGough lived up to his nickname in the opener and Kevin Merkle was a single shy of the cycle in the nightcap.

McGough had a double, homer and four RBIs in Game 1. Jim Toy also knocked in four runs while Rob Benigni allowed just five hits to get the win. Merkle drove in five runs in the afterpiece. Toy went deep, Anthony SanFilippo Jr. made his dad proud on Father’s Day by going 3-for-3 and Tim Troutman legged out a triple.

HEAVY HITTERWS 10-13, AMSETT 4-2 » Steve Cashin went 5-for-5 in the twinbill. Anthony and Joe Yannucci both went 4-for-6 to help complete the sweep.

MRC 12, Cocco’s 6 >> Johnny Ratchuk went 2-for-3 with a homer to lift MRC to victory in the second game. Kenny Elkind was 4-for-4 with three doubles and Mike Flaherty was 3-for-3 with a homer and five RBIs.

Cocco’s took Game 1 but no score was reported.
