Richard J. Netzel, Sr., 79, of Lehighton, PA, formerly of Milmont Park, passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2022.

Mr. Netzel was devoted to his wife of 57 years, Donna A., his children and grandchild­ren. He was known for his generous and caring nature, as well as his smile and laugh. His artistic talent was the highlight of the Christmas season and still has a place in the family homes. Mr. Netzel was an avid music collector and enthusiast, which he passed on to his family, especially his beloved son, R.J. He was most happy surrounded by his family, fishing, listening to music and watching Philadelph­ia sports teams.

Mr. Netzel was employed by Merck, Sharp, and Dohme for 30 years as a Senior Packaging Design Engineer. He was a graduate of Ridley Township High School and Philadelph­ia College of Art. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era.

Mr. Netzel is survived by his wife, Donna A. Denning Netzel, his daughters, Natalie M. Fisher (Joseph) and Christine F. Ambrose, and his grandchild­ren, Tyler,

Shaun, Casey and James. Also survived by his sister Barbara Istvan (George), along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predecease­d by his son, Richard J. Netzel, Jr. “R.J.”, his parents Philip C. and Bette Aregood Netzel and his sister Betsy Maddock.

Funeral Service 1:00PM Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA where relatives and friends may call after 12:00 Noon.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Kidney Foundation (kidneyfund.org.) in support of research and organ donation.
