GV’s Dorosh too much for Broomall in Mid-County Senior semifinals

Ryan Dorosh was lights out Wednesday, striking out 13 as Garnet Valley topped Broomall, 4-0, in the first game of their best-of-3 semifinal series in the Mid-County Senior Baseball League.

Dorosh went the distance. Steve Caruso had a hit and drove in two. Ryan Gallagher, Ben Faso and Joey Buoni added RBIs, Buoni supplying a pair of hits.

In the Delco League:

WAYNE 5, CHESTER 2 » Luke Mutz homered, drove in two and scored twice to back a stellar pitching outing by Anthony Ehly.

Nate Sides went 3-for-3 with a homer, and Matt Briner drove in a run and scored. That was enough for Ehly, who allowed five hits over five innings, striking out five. He allowed a solo homer to Bobby Williams, who scored both of Chester’s runs and had two of their six hits. Brian Protesto

drove in the other run.

In the Section 8 11U tournament: ASTON-MIDDLETOWN 14, COVENTRY 1» AMLL earned its title shot by defeating Coventry in the Section 8 11U Little League tournament late Tuesday. AMLL was due to play Coventry again in a winner-takeall finale late Wednesday at Levittown Little League.

Joey Thompson struck out eight batters, needing only to get 12 outs.

He scattered three hits. AMLL exploded for eight runs in the second inning to put the game away. Hunter Kass, Colin Dailey, Luke Fulker and Austin Younger all doubled. Younger and Ben Dugan each stole home for AMLL.

Softball

Boss Automotive parked itself in third place in the Brandywine Valley Senior Softball Associatio­n standings Wednesday, thanks to Ron Kummerer’s four hits and a 16-9 win over Carlson’s Auto Body.

Mike Szczerba was the winning pitcher.

GOSHEN BEVERAGE 17, AMPRO SCREEN PRINTING 7 » Bill Auve and Ray Hernandez homered, and Chris Sclafani cleared the bases with a double for the top seed in the upcoming playoffs. Bob Shemonsky got the victory.
