Nails in tires, teen has pot at school, $18,000 siphoned off accounts

Haverford police blotter for the week ending Nov. 22.

Nov. 16

No ignition interlock: 7:37a.m., a 35-year-old man from the first block of Linden Avenue, Upper Darby, was charged with operating a vehicle without the ignition interlock. The arrest occurred in the 1200block of West Chester Pike.

Retail Theft: 12:14p.m., an unknown female stole $851in merchandis­e at Kohl’s in the 200block of West Chester Pike and fled.

Theft from vehicle: 2:33p.m., a vehicle at the YMCA in the 800block of North Eagle Road was entered. Credit cards were stolen from a wallet and two unauthoriz­ed purchases were made with one of the credit cards.

Vandalism: 8:06p.m., a victim reported reported that two of her vehicles had nails placed in the tires at Haverford Village in the 700block of Ardmore Avenue.

Retail Theft: 8:28p.m., at Kohl’s in the 200block of West Chester Pike, a male stole $930worth of merchandis­e and fled the store.

Nov. 17

Fraud: 3:39p.m., a victim on the 200block of Glen Arbor Road reported their checking and money market account were compromise­d and $18,000had been withdrawn from her two accounts.

Forgery: 3:48p.m., the pharmacist at Katz Pharmacy in the first block of East Eagle Road reported the he received two false prescripti­ons via fax. Identity Theft: 3:58p.m., a resident in the first block of Decatur Road reported an unknown male used the victim’s identity to attempt to withdraw money from his account. Vandalism: 11:46p.m., a vehicle tire was slashed on the 2600block of County Line Road.

Nov. 18

Fraud: 12:45p.m., a person on the 100block of Campbell Avenue reported that he was contacted by a person claiming to be from Paypal. The caller stated that his account was compromise­d and to download Any Desk software. The unknown male then gained access to the victim’s computer and online banking. The suspect was unsuccessf­ul in making an electronic transfer and suggested the victim withdraw cash and send it to him.

Marijuana at school: 1:20p.m., a 15-year-old male was petitioned to juvenile court on charges of possession of marijuana and drug parapherna­lia at Haverford High School.

Nov. 19

Theft from vehicles: 3:56a.m., a 42-year-old man from the 800block of Main Street in Birdsboro, Berks County, was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft from a motor vehicle, loitering and prowling at night and possession of drug parapherna­lia. A resident had witnessed a male entering vehicles. Police located a subject matching the descriptio­n and conducted a pedestrian stop in the 2400block of Whitby Road, where the man was arrested.

Retail Theft: 2:52p.m., an unknown male stole three vapes totaling $150 from the Smoke Scene in the 1500 block of West Chester Pike.

Nov. 20

Theft: at 11:20a.m., a vehicle window was smashed at the Haverford Dog Park at Haverford Reserve in the 7000block of Parkview Drive. A purse was stolen.

Vandalism: at 11:50a.m. in the 2500 block of Olcott Avenue a vehicle side view mirror was broken off.

Nov. 21

Fraud: at 2:51p.m., a person on the first block of West Eagle Road reported a check was altered and attempted to be cashed after it was mailed.

Nov. 22

Retail theft: at 1:11a.m. an unknown male stole two cartons of cigarettes from the Wawa on the 1000block of Darby Road.

In addition to all that, officers issued 45moving violations, 49warnings, seven nontraffic citations and 102 parking tickets for the week.
